My cousin and I went for her to get her first tattoo and I did not get one here but my cousin did. I have a medical alert service dog and for the first 10 minutes we were there no one said anything. As we sit in the waiting room the receptionist comes out and tells me to take my dog outside (my service dog was not vested but per ADA service dogs don't need to have to be vested) I the kindly informed her my dog is a service dog. My dog was laying at my feet and doing nothing wrong. The receptionist then goes to the back and I can hear her and another employee talking about why isn't my dog vested. A bit later my cousin goes back and I go with her and the artist tells me I can go but the dog can't. I ask why and he tells me it's a sterile environment, I went back into the waiting room because I didn't want to argue and make a big deal for the sake of my cousin. But per ADA the only places in America that can say that are certain parts of hospitals like burn units or surgical rooms. Also a tattoo room is not at a sterile environment. It is a clean environment but not sterile they is a big difference. I have heard great things about revolution ink and they did a great job on my cousin's tattoo but due to the disability discrimination i personally would not recommend. read more
