My friend surprised me and treated me to a Shampoo Crown Shakra Cleanse. Never had one before but I…read moreloved it. The crown chakra connects us to our higher self, spirit, universal truth, God, source-which ever you resonate the most with. You will have more clarity along with more confidence. The practice is built on the practice of receiving loving kindness. It was lovely to start with warm cup of tea on a rainy day and just to calm down. I rested comfortably under a throw blanket, while Mildred gently massaged my scalp and shampooed my hair reminding me several times that I have to relax and let her do the treatment. She was very attentive to the detail and asked several times if the water temperature was comfortable or if the scalp massage was gentle enough. It was so relaxing that I must have dozed off for a minute. It's hard to explain, but I truly felt that my stress was lifted away and that I really had more clear thoughts afterwards. What a wonderful early birthday gift. This spa offers so many other natural healing methods, like Reiki, Thai Bodywork, Crystal Therapy, Sound Healing, Yoga, Sharing Circle and much more. It's located in a beautifully decorated house on Bells Ferry Rd, in Acworth. When you step inside you just get the feeling of tranquility, love, piece and serenity. I had a wonderful opportunity to talk to the owner, Massiel Ocampo, and to hear her mission statement, about her journey to helping others. I'm so thankful to my friend for giving me this gift to explore. Definitely, I want to attend some of the upcoming events and to introduce this hidden gem to my other friends.

My partner and I discovered Lift when we were coming out of 18 months of Covid restrictions and…read moreneeding a way to get back to healthy habits, exercise, and stress reduction. I found the studio online and of all the studios I looked at, it had the most variety of classes at times that worked for us (after regular working hours and on weekends). We signed up for the initial $20 unlimited 2 weeks pass and crammed in as many classes as we could over that time. Every class we took and every instructor we worked with was fantastic. I did 2 of the video classes as well. Everyone was kind and welcoming. And we loved that every single class and instructor reinforced that everyone's yoga practice is individual and we should feel free to modify as needed and ask for help when needed. We have since purchased multiple of the 30 class packs but I think we'll switch to the monthly rate as soon as we've used all of our classes. We look forward to the 2-3 classes a week we attend; they've become so much a part of our weekly routine that everything feels "off" if we miss one! The fact that Lift has now added a John's Creek location is even better for us, since we split time between my home in Alpharetta and my partner's house in John's Creek - so wherever we are, we can find a class time and location that works. Final note: I can only assume the handful of people giving 1-star reviews and complaining about the studio being "activist" and "political" are anti-maker folks who bristled at being asked to wear a mask and social distance inside the studio. We gladly wore our masks for the first several months we attended and continue to distance while inside the studio when requested. Yoga is not a-political. The very essence of yoga requires truth, justice, peace, and learning - and yes, activism. Anyone who doesn't understand that doesn't understand yoga.

I really appreciate everything she did to lead an authentic yoga session, and the extra touches such as the handouts explaining traditional yoga poses! The studio is beautiful and spacious (the Moon room), and all the equipment is in excellent condition (new!). I'm an out of towner who has been trying different studios in the Alpharetta area, looking for a practice similar to what I follow in Charlotte - and I think I've found it! I will be back - thank you Lift Yoga and Kember!
