After hearing nothing about a schedule for the job, I tried contacting them on 31 May. Several phone calls and emails over the next ten days were not returned. On 10 June, I contacted the company that had recommended B and W. They called David, and he immediately called me to say he'd get back to me by the end of the following week to schedule the job. He didn't, so I called back on 22 June, when I learned they had scheduled the job for 30 July (without telling me). They ended up doing the job on 27 July. The join between the new beam and the wall seemed sloppy to me (much stucco removed from the wall, with a jagged boundary between the green paint on the wall and the beige paint on the beam). I emailed them, and David returned on 4 August to touch up the area. When I got home and looked at it, I honestly thought he hadn't come by, until I felt the area and noticed some new paint. It looks like he filled in some of the area of missing stucco and painted over it, but the boundary between the green and beige paint still looked sloppy to me (see photo). A three-month wait for a job I wasn't satisfied with -- all in all, a frustrating experience with B and W.

Aaron (owner of the biz) came out right on schedule, re-keyed several locks for us, installed a new front door lock, correctly installed a lock that had been put in wrong by our handyman, made sure all our locks were moving like butter, and was in and out in 30 minutes! His fee, including cutting us six new keys, was a paltry $80! Incredible! Aaron was friendly, professional, obviously is an expert at his trade, and was a pleasure to have here. They are extremely knowledgeable, flexible during the job and their work is of outstanding quality. We had a difficult job that required a ton of prep work to prepare the space. There was a lot of water mitigation necessary and even a connected concrete bridge that needed repair. And the leveling and grading required precision. The concrete also tied into the asphalt, so the concrete had to be put in to tie in perfectly. Drew and his Briese Custom Concrete crew went the extra mile to ensure their work functioned and looked just right. They even put in some steps to a storage building and made the whole space function really well together. We've had good work done by other concrete contractors. But communication was often difficult; with no responses for weeks - and even months - or none at all. Briese Custom Concrete is in high demand, so you will probably have to plan your job out a bit. But they respond to communications quickly and are accurate in their schedules. For me, I just need to plan; I can wait if I know how long etc. Jessica kept us in the loop and we were able to schedule the other contractors to come in on both sides and not miss a beat on our project. I should note: We did this project while construction material costs were skyrocketing due to COVID/Ukraine invasion/etc. Briese Custom Concrete bid out the job and then saw their costs almost double by the time they could get the weather they needed this summer. But they STILL kept their bid and charged us what they originally quoted. Not all contractors did that for us. We'll definitely be using Briese Custom Concrete for future projects.
