St. Joseph is a great place to live and visit. The only thing missing to this point has been a fine dining establishment. That ended with the opening of Revl&Co. We have been looking forward to this opening for many months, and I can say we were not disappointed. We dined with a party of 7, and every one of us lost our minds at the amazing dining experience.
First, you are going to need a reservation. Second, treat yourself and dress up a bit. You don't need a tux or suit, but a collared shirt is a nice touch. Third, show up about 30 minutes before your reservation so you can relax in the downstairs speakeasy and have a specialty cocktail. We showed up about 10 minutes before our reservation, and I wish we would have had a few more minutes down there. Our bartender was Christine, and she was friendly and mixed a great drink.
At our reservation time, we were escorted to our table where we met our waiter, Wyatt. He explained how the menu worked and provided outstanding service throughout the night. We started with the bread service. It was homemade bread with fresh butter. Amazing. Next was the Sweet Corn Soup. It came in a bowl with some corn and a few other ingredients in the bowl, but no liquid. Wyatt had what looked like a tea pot and he used it to fill the bowl with liquid. The soup was off the chart delicious. Next, we had the Asparagus Risotto. Once again, exceeded expectations. My wife does not like asparagus and she thought the risotto was the best she had ever tried. We moved on to the main course. My wife had the filet mignon with a mushroom sauce. The steak was so tender, you could cut it with your fork. I had the halibut. It was perfectly cooked and very tasty. It came with an eggplant based Mediterranean salad. I thought I didn't like eggplant, but apparently, I was wrong because this was beyond delicious. The lamb shank and chicken were also served at our table to high reviews. The meal ended with both deserts, the Shut Up You Tart and the Land of Milk and Honey. The tart really wasn't a tart; it was a chocolate mousse covered in chocolate with a light chocolate sauce. If you like chocolate, you can't pass this up. My favorite was Land of Milk and Honey. It was panna cotta with fruit and aromatics. It was the best. Each bite changed flavor in your mouth several times and I could eat that all night.
After our meal, we were fortunate enough to have Chef Jacob Hilbert stop by our table so we could heap tons of well-earned praise on him. This is a MUST visit restaurant and experience. Get your reservation NOW! read more
