It was $4 for the 3 items. The chocolate milk was about $2 and the Reese's and the Skittles were each $0.99. It is a laid back store. There are two registers in the center.

While the space is modest in size, it's absolutely beautiful and perfect for a relaxing walk on a nice day. Since it was around 85 degrees, we put Luna's dog shoes on for the walk. We highly recommend using dog shoes on hot days-they protect your pup's paws from hot pavement, sharp objects, and even things like bees (Luna was stung once, so we ve learned!). It can take some time for dogs to adjust to wearing shoes, so be patient. Use treats and positive reinforcement when they ignore the shoes, even for a moment. It really helps make the experience more comfortable for them.

Barely a welcome or acknowledgement you are in the store. Do not expect a "may I help you". I have made purchases (one large) from them in the past (very friendly when they realized I was going to make a purchase) , but will certainly go elsewhere now. I thought maybe the stress of the move to Freshfields was the issue the first couple of times I was in, but I see now the "I can't be bothered" attitude is the order of the day. They have a beautiful selection of home decor and a rather captive audience on the island, so I suppose the combination has worked in the past. I was greeted by their friendly staff who allowed me to tour their HUGE greenhouse that just left me in Aww! I spent time looking at every plant they offered and it was such a relaxing spot. I didn't want to leave and had to talk myself out of making a purchase. I came strictly for planters, but man it was hard to resist. They have a cute little store with unique planters and other planting needs and trinkets. Brownswood is also a landscaping company and can supply you with everything to make your lawn beautiful. Everything about this place is a plant lover's dream and for anyone looking to spruce up their property should definitely check them out. I visited Brownswood Nursery for the first time and purchased several varieties of border shrubs in…read morethe spring and planted them in my well-amended garden bed. Despite proper sun and watering, withing several weeks one shrub started to turn brown. I brought it to the nursery when 3/4 of the bush was dead. I requested a replacement and was advised that I had over-watered the plant and it had develeped a fungus. I was further advised that they would offer a ONE-TIME REPLACEMENT, AT 50% OF THE COST! This did not sit well with me but I needed another bush, so I reluctantly paid the additional cost and purchased fungal spray to have on hand. Within the next couple of weeks, another shrub as well as the replacement shrub started to turn brown. I administered the fungicide accordingly, but the plants did not respond and died. Upon calling the nursery and advising them of the situation, I was told this time that the shrubs had been UNDER-WATERED and that they only offered a ONE-TIME REPLACEMENT. I have purchased many plants and shrubs over the years from other nurseries as well as at Home Depot, Lowes, and Costco, and have never experienced this deplorable level of customer service. If there is a problem, this nursery expects one to call with any issues so that they can give you the run around and BLAME YOU for the plants failure! I learned that Brownswood Nursery does not stand behind the quality of their merchandise. NEVER AGAIN!!

The Surf Shack is fun. The Surf Shack is small…read more We enjoyed seven days at the Surf Shack Thanksgiving week, 4 nights with 4 adults and a 4 year old, 4 nights with 6 adults and a 4 year old. Weather was great, an under 10 minute walk to the beach and the Island is, of course, beautiful. The kitchen and outdoor space (screen porch/dining area and seating area/fire table) were great.....and necessary. You are literally on top of Sparrow Pond. The bird watching was fun. The fish jumping was fun. No gator sightings, however. Thee kitchen was well stocked, high end appliances and perfect to cook Thanksgiving dinner. We did bring our own Roasting Pan, large cutting board, Pyrex, etc. The basting tube did not work but otherwise we had everything we needed. Bring a cooler and ice. The small sub-zero ice maker did not keep up us. The indoor space, while beautifully designed and decorated, was impractical. The two leather pieces look good in the photos, but as far as actually sitting more than one adult on one of them is uncomfortable. The four bedrooms were TINY. Beds/linens/pillows were fine, there was simply little room to maneuver around the bed. Corners were tight and the bed was hard when your shins knocked into it. Bathrooms were also small yet functional, showers were well-dimensioned given the space and water pressure was super. The cottage was clean upon arrival, the fresh flowers were a nice touch. There were plenty of books, toys for kids and a notebook loaded with information about the Island, menus for many restaurants, etc. We enjoyed our time with family most importantly but we would not return for an entire week based on the tiny bedrooms and impractical indoor seating. For us, a weekend away is the better choice for the Surf Shack. KIG was perfectly fine to work with and we would not hesitate to use them again given the circumstances. They give us the right information at the right time and were always prompt in getting back to us. Kiawah - YES KIG - YES Return to Surf Shack - No.

We were welcomed by soft music and beautiful flowers welcoming us. There was everything we needed in the unit for our weekend. The accommodations were updated and very tasteful. If we could say one thing about the Villa it was the upstairs beds were too soft. If you need a firm mattress sleep downstairs in the room with the twins . Our overall stay was wonderful. It was when I went to book again that we had an unpleasant surprise. Jeanette (the owner) told me we did not follow the check out instructions to take out garbage . She stated the head of her her cleaning crew said garbage was left in the Villa and then check out instructions were not followed. I was shocked! There had to be a mix up with which Villa the cleaning crew was talking about, because I personally took all the garbage out to the parking lot garbage bin located in the center of the parking lot in an enclosure. There were 6 of us ladies ranged in the ages of 49-58. We left that place as we found it and the list was followed. Well, due to this accusation I was very insulted. Jeanette insisted she was right. I canceled my current reservation as I was so taken aback and a bit shaken. I have never had this happen to me in all the years I have rented homes and villas. Then after a week or so I decided it was too petty and the other set of women I was planning a trip with wanted to stay at Ocean Blue. So I put in the reservation and deposit. I very quickly received an email from Jeanette telling me they would not be honoring my reservation and no longer would be allowing me to rent from them. I couldn't believe what happened... This was the most unbelievable experience. After all the years of sending people to Kiawah Island Getaways and referring them they treat me as if I am some dirty rat. Sad experience... and probably due to a mix up with which Villa the cleaners were really talking about. However, that is far from how you handle yourself in business and customer service.
