While the space is modest in size, it's absolutely beautiful and perfect for a relaxing walk on a nice day. Since it was around 85 degrees, we put Luna's dog shoes on for the walk. We highly recommend using dog shoes on hot days-they protect your pup's paws from hot pavement, sharp objects, and even things like bees (Luna was stung once, so we ve learned!). It can take some time for dogs to adjust to wearing shoes, so be patient. Use treats and positive reinforcement when they ignore the shoes, even for a moment. It really helps make the experience more comfortable for them.

Barely a welcome or acknowledgement you are in the store. Do not expect a "may I help you". I have made purchases (one large) from them in the past (very friendly when they realized I was going to make a purchase) , but will certainly go elsewhere now. I thought maybe the stress of the move to Freshfields was the issue the first couple of times I was in, but I see now the "I can't be bothered" attitude is the order of the day. They have a beautiful selection of home decor and a rather captive audience on the island, so I suppose the combination has worked in the past. I was greeted by their friendly staff who allowed me to tour their HUGE greenhouse that just left me in Aww! I spent time looking at every plant they offered and it was such a relaxing spot. I didn't want to leave and had to talk myself out of making a purchase. I came strictly for planters, but man it was hard to resist. They have a cute little store with unique planters and other planting needs and trinkets. Brownswood is also a landscaping company and can supply you with everything to make your lawn beautiful. I visited Brownswood Nursery for the first time and purchased several varieties of border shrubs in…read morethe spring and planted them in my well-amended garden bed. Despite proper sun and watering, withing several weeks one shrub started to turn brown. I brought it to the nursery when 3/4 of the bush was dead. I requested a replacement and was advised that I had over-watered the plant and it had develeped a fungus. I was further advised that they would offer a ONE-TIME REPLACEMENT, AT 50% OF THE COST! This did not sit well with me but I needed another bush, so I reluctantly paid the additional cost and purchased fungal spray to have on hand. Within the next couple of weeks, another shrub as well as the replacement shrub started to turn brown. I administered the fungicide accordingly, but the plants did not respond and died. Upon calling the nursery and advising them of the situation, I was told this time that the shrubs had been UNDER-WATERED and that they only offered a ONE-TIME REPLACEMENT. I have purchased many plants and shrubs over the years from other nurseries as well as at Home Depot, Lowes, and Costco, and have never experienced this deplorable level of customer service. If there is a problem, this nursery expects one to call with any issues so that they can give you the run around and BLAME YOU for the plants failure! I learned that Brownswood Nursery does not stand behind the quality of their merchandise. NEVER AGAIN!!
