It was so refreshing to engage with someone who simply felt like he loved engaging with people. I can't put into words how awesome this guy is- he is singlehandedly the reason we will be coming back. Every year for Thanksgiving, we plan a family party here for the last few years. It's always been a good experience. This year though not so much. Overall for 12 adults and 5 children, it was close to $700.00 for 2 hours. This did not include food and drink. Our server unfortunately was extremely rude... we waited over 30 minutes to order our drinks and food. We requested a new server and she was amazing after we had the switch. We got our food and drinks promptly. The food was ok... it could have been better. Overall, I think they are charging way too much for bowling for the experience we had. I do understand the cost of everything has gone up but $700.00 is a bit steep for two hours. This is a fun place to go with friends, their adult beverage area is definitely the thing they push in their business- even all the game table in the arcade have a place to put your drinks. The arcade games have been updated since we've been there last and there is a good selection, but everything needed a good wipe down. The bathrooms were clean. There was some kind of company holiday party going on in the bowling area with good looking catered food. We came for the games, and though they were fun, the amount you pay/ tickets earned was pretty high. For 2 people to play air hockey it was $3. Seemed excessive to me. First visit since the renovation. Haven't bowled in over 10 years, bit rusty and out of sync lol. The line was long, there was a group of folks ahead of us, but they seemed busier chatting with themselves then trying to pay for the lanes and getting their shoes. Due to this, it took us like 15 minutes of waiting and they only had one person working the counter. It was nice to bowl, had great time with the fam. We paid for 10 games and one shoes rental - that came out to like $35. We paid more for the alcohol and that's where they make their money :) Sadly, this is the only bowling alley in Ann Arbor now. read more

Had a nice visit here with my kids for a rainy day of bowling & arcade. I love the style of this place, as well as the comfortable seating at each of the lanes. It's wonderful that they have the option of bumpers that come up and down automatically when the selected bowler is up for their turn. We visited on a weekday afternoon, so it was not very busy, and, they had a special going on for unlimited bowling & arcade games (without winning any tickets/prizes) for about $20 a person. What a deal! Kids were a little disappointed not to be going home with prizes, but we had a great time and they bowled 5 games and hit the arcade for nearly 2 hours. We came early this past Saturday and it was pretty disappointing. I am a server and understand the rush of game days but we came early in the afternoon and there were tables open. The sections were not full yet. We had Zoe as our server and ordered one drink and our food. She was very lost the whole time we were there. She held on to our card after opening a tab for over 30 mins and we also were waiting awhile for our beer. When it came to food, the food wouldn't have been bad if it didn't come out cold. We asked Zoe for silver ware and napkins ( something that should be provided before our app) and then she disappeared for a while and when she came back looked lost again. We ate our food without utensils and napkins and when it came down to getting our tab we had to go find her for it because she was again, no where to be found. It just became very frustrating and again I understand restaurant rushes for game days but this was definitely not the case. read more

The 19 of us fit comfortably and enjoyed a rousing game of white elephant gift exchange until 3pm. At 3pm we divvied up into 4 teams and played until 5pm. Service: I was very surprised that the place was packed at 3pm on a Friday and that they didn't have more bartenders and servers available. Joshua was awesome, running the bar and as our server for our visit. It was nice to start with him when we were in the captain's room and seamlessly transition to the lanes. He moved the desserts to our lanes too. The dude hustled for his customers. Facilities: the place is huge, with private room lanes, general lanes, arcade and restaurant in an open area. When we took our lanes, we had 4 lanes reserved for our office, which should have been two sections, but instead, we were on the single end lane against the wall and ending at another shared section with another party that didn't want to share. When asked about it from a manager on the floor, the response was that they were full and had filled every lane. That doesn't explain anything. It's simply poor planning by the facility. I would expect they would put the single private party at the end and the group of four lanes in two contiguous sections. Getting BS responses like that doesn't give me much faith in their care for party reservations. Also, there was no one to clear tables and stuff from previous party. We took our lanes and had to work around hot plates left behind by the previous renters. The tables were cleaned but equipment was still there. We were 19 people w purses, coats and gifts. It was a bit annoying to just have to deal with it as with the lane configuration. Cost: This place is pricey. The Alley Sampler platter is $32 or $36. It's like Applebee's quality with airport prices. Little alcohol, a lot of sugar, and served with a punchy name so they can charge $25 for the drink. It is what it is. I wouldn't go there if it wasn't someone else paying for it but can't deny that we had fun and the service was good. Came here for a company Christmas party, so this review is only based on the use of the private event space. The cost to me was $0, so my review is not based on the typical user experience here. The staff was great. We didn't see a whole lot of them aside from some food set up, but they were very quickly available as needed. The food was prepared in house, and was much better than I had expected from a bowling alley. There were plenty of appetizers followed by pizza, and a few other entrees (I think one was chicken parm- not sure what the others were). As far as drinks go, we were given 3 or 4 pitchers for drinks for a few hundred people, so that would really be my only complaint. The space was nice- we had 6 private lanes away from the rest of the alley, a private dining area, a coat room and private bathroom. All in all, this was a nice event. read more

For a recent Saturday night, friends suggested getting together for bowling. Not having been in ages, I enthusiastically looked forward to meeting them for a few games. We arrived late that evening, and were thrilled to see that Revel and Roll is open until 1 on weekends, meaning we could stay nearly as late as we liked. After paying for games and shoes, we headed on over to our lane. I'm not sure if it's always this way at R&R, but we paid in one transaction for time, rather than individually for shoe rental. Bring cash or keep your Venmo up to date to pay whoever in your group puts it on their card. As we got set up at our lane, an employee came over and dropped off drink menus. Given that we were in mixed company, the guys all wanted beer and ordered a couple of pitchers, but there are other options as well for those who aren't huge fans of hops. We played one game, and I actually bowled better than I thought I would, getting a number of spares throughout. I wound up 4th out of 9. The bowling alley itself is extremely clean and open -- I'm used to them being a little shabby and maybe with the smell of cigarettes from 1987 or some old date hanging around in the molded plastic seats. So this was refreshingly updated and modern. We are already talking about our next trip back to Revel and Roll, and in the meantime you may want to give it a gander as well! read more

Believe it or not, I have never actually bowled here. Nope, it's not for me. So, pray tell, how do I spend my time?... Revel & Roll is currently my favorite sports bar in town! The bar has plenty of seating and is covered in televisions, providing sensory fulfillment to the sports enthusiast. During "big games" or during the week, games are also projected onto the walls above the bowling lanes. The audio varies between game audio and background music, which is usually a fun mix that spans the likes of country to hip-hop. During game breaks, I frequently hit the arcade, which has (in my opinion) the best selection of games in Ann Arbor. Revel & Roll is not just my go-to for sporting events, though... Frequently, I am finding myself heading there to meet friends for drinks or grab dinner! The revamped food menu is super delicious! The steak and mushroom sandwich is my new favorite steak sandwich in town, even surpassing the french dip served by one of my other local favorites! I am in shock at how amazing this establishment and chain is. I came to visit my niece and nephews! I decided to attempt to be the favorite Aunt and take the 8 bowling but needed a good deal. Ashley called me back and gave me the Paparzzi special. She understood how I was trying to save and gave me 10% off. Then when I arrived the waitress Ashley was so kind gave us all sodas. We made a mess spilling things. They were very understanding and quick to give us napkins. The bowling alley was clean. Then Jeff one of the managers came out and shook my hand and not only did he give me arcade passes but through in extra. I am so appreciative of their kindness.
