I decided that it would be really fun to surprise my husband with photos from a boudoir photo shoot, and I was lucky enough to know where to go for it. In the interest of full disclosure, I should probably note that I have known one of these ladies for a while, so I was quite familiar with how great her work is, and how much fun she is in general. This is a big reason I decided to go with them in the first place. I would have to say this is one of the most unique experiences I have ever had in my life, and I have Maggie and Laurie to thank for it. And just an FYI, this is going to be a fairly long review because my experience was seriously worth gushing over. I had wanted to do it for a while, and finally decided to just go for it one day. They were both fantastic - I ended up having a crazy schedule to work with, but they were still able to fit me in really quickly. I think I contacted them with a weeks notice, but you would never have known there was any rush at all. They were very attentive and everything was very professional. When I arrived at the studio hair and makeup was ready and waiting! I had been instructed to come with clean hair and skin, get a mani and pedi before the shoot, and to bring a variety of lingerie (I would also recommend bringing some sexy shoes to enhance each look). They helped choose the best outfits, and we discussed what features I liked and wanted to play up. They really listened to me, and were very understanding about any features I wasn't crazy about and wanted to downplay. I felt really comfortable. From there, we were off to hair and makeup! The transformation was truly unreal. I wasn't facing a mirror while I was being worked on, so the first time I walked by one I did a double take - I felt like I walked out of a magazine or something. After seeing the results, it set the mood for me and gave me that big confidence boost that you need to do something like this in the first place. It really helped me get in the right frame of mind for the shoot in general. They make you feel completely pampered through the whole process. Everyone is really great to be around, and all the ladies there have the wonderful ability to put you at ease too. I am not a shy person by any means, but I am pretty modest when it comes to what I wear. I think the last time I was at the beach, I had on a bikini top and shorts. Long. shorts. Lol. (Ok, so I may have shed the shorts when I went in the water, but I'm pretty sure they were back on when that was over...) I'm really not used to wearing such little clothing, but they were really able to calm any nerves and put me at ease throughout the whole experience. After hair and make up I was definitely ready for the shoot! In short, it was totally amazing. I'm no model, but they are great at directing your movements to get the best angles and lighting for the shots. It's cool because they are open to suggestion as well. I am a bit of a dancer and an acrobat, so I was just trying random movements and shapes as I went along. They really helped guide my movements so they could get the best shots out of me, and they did great work with that. I felt really comfortable the entire time. We wrapped up the shoot and I think they had my pictures ready for review the following week. We set up an appointment and went through the best shots. I got to choose my favorites, and they were really helpful in helping me narrow things down. I ended up going with a photo album, which I am incredibly happy with. It was delivered quickly, and the quality is fantastic. If you are in the market to try something like this, go with Revealed, hands down. I was really just planning on doing this to try and do something nice for my husband, but I have to say I really got a lot out of it too. Laurie and Maggie provided me with a great experience that made me feel pretty freaking awesome, and in the end I got a very happy husband and a great product to boot. I had such an amazing experience working with Maggie and Kelly! I was excited about my photos but I had no idea how much I would truly love the entire shoot. Maggie just photographed my maternity photo session, and she was phenomenal! I scheduled my session a bit later in my pregnancy than average - I was eight months along and was starting to feel a bit large and swollen. During our entire session, however, Maggie made me feel comfortable, confident and beautiful. I have known Maggie for a few years, and I think anyone would agree that she is one of the kindest and most genuine people you will meet. We started out with a hair and make-up session by a sweet and talented woman named Tonya. I've had my make-up done professionally a few times, and each time, I've ended up looking clownish - not with Tonya. She gave me a naturally pretty look, which is exactly what I wanted. During the session, the three of us chatted and listened to music. I immediately felt at ease. I brought several pieces of clothing and jewelry and Maggie helped me pick my outfits. It was nice to get a professional opinion on what would be photographed well. She also had a great selection of jewelry that I could loan during the session. We started off with shots in the studio, which is classy-looking and has great natural light. We then went to an outdoor space in a park, under some lovely willow trees. As with most people who probably go to Revealed, I haven't participated in a solo photo shoot since my high school senior photos, so I was worried that I would feel a bit silly and unnatural. However, Maggie gave me gentle direction and feedback and made the session more fun and relaxing than I could have imagined. I would highly recommend Revealed Studios! read more

Maggie is nothing short of a miracle worker with a camera. I did a boudoir shoot with Revealed Studios after having a friend do one as a wedding gift to her new husband and her pictures looked amazing. I was jealous, I wanted photos of my own! So in I went to Revealed with a bag full of lingerie, heels and jewelry. Maggie and staff did the rest. There was a great hair and make up artist on hand to make me look fabulous and then Maggie took over with the shoot. She makes you feel instantly comfortable. It was a really fun experience just to take the pictures, you really feel like a Victoria's Secret model during it (which I am decidedly not. Apparently, years of watching America's Next Top Model does not make you an actual model) I am not a natural in front of the camera, and I don't "do sexy" very well but I felt great and had a blast the entire time. When I saw my photos at the proofing session, I was blown away. I had no idea any part of my body could look the way it did in a photograph. Maggie's supreme eye and direction left me with unbelievable photos that I will cherish forever. I just wish it was socially appropriate to show everyone you know photos of you in your underwear because if it was, I would be doing so. These are not photos that should be hidden away just to show your boyfriend or husband. These photos deserved to be blown up and framed in your house. I want these photos to be an album on Facebook. Seriously, they are amazing. You don't have to be getting married or celebrating anything special to do a shoot with Revealed. I have been a huge fan of boudoir photography for quite a while, and have been itching to do a session for the longest time. I actually found images from Revealed Studios on a Buzzfeed article called 33 Impossibly Sexy Boudoir Photo Poses. I saw the photos and fell in love with the photography. When I learned that Revealed Studios was not too far from where I lived in Chicago, I decided to book a session immediately. Maggie was very warm and friendly from the beginning. From the initial phone call, she made me feel very comfortable and excited for doing a photo shoot. When I arrived at the studio, I met Maggie and Laurie, as well as their hair & makeup artist Jacy (I hope I'm spelling that correctly). They were all so enthusiastic, that it just amped up my energy. I immediately felt relaxed, and suddenly, all of my insecurities were gone. I felt myself embracing my natural femininity, which made for some AMAZING photos. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face after the session for the entire day. When I came back a few weeks later for review, I got to see the photos and I was in shock. A lot of women don't believe it's really them, but Maggie, Laurie & Jacy helped me bring out my sexy feminine side, I had looked at those pictures and genuinely saw myself; just a side of myself I'd never seen before. I've put off writing this review of my boudoir experience for some time now because I literally could not find the words to describe how amazing it was. I contacted Revealed studios in addition to several other Chicago boudoir studios back in March to have a shoot/album put together for a ten year wedding anniversary gift for my husband. I could not be happier with my decision to go with Revealed. I've always been a little self-conscious of my body, and notice my flaws far quicker than most. The thought of being in my underwear in front of stranger was bizarre and a little intimidating. All my fears and inhibitions melted away within seconds, and by the end of the day I have never felt more beautiful. I cannot stress this enough - the women at this studio (Maggie, Laurie, Kelly) bring out your inner beauty and highlight your outer beauty in a way that makes you feel strong, confident, and REAL. At no point did I feel uncomfortable or feel like the shoot wasn't going to show me as ME. Everyone I dealt with from beginning to end was fantastic - not only professional, but kind, supportive and enthusiastic. Wow - what an amazing experience!!! I've been hearing about boudoir photography shoots for a couple years now, and to be honest my first reaction was that it was something I would NEVER do. However, after a friend had a great experience, I decided to give it a shot. I decided to go with Revealed Studios since I loved the photos they had displayed on their website, and also because in the video on their website Maggie and Laurie seemed very sweet and down to earth. I set up an appointment with Maggie via email and the scheduling process was quick and easy. When I got to the Revealed studio, I was immediately impressed with the gorgeous space. It's set up and decorated in a way that feels comfortable and romantic - which is exactly the type of ambience you need to get photographed in your lingerie! While Maggie got everything set up for the shoot, Tonya did my hair and makeup and she did an amazing job! I am normally really picky about how my makeup looks and as a result I generally don't like how professional makeup artists do my makeup. Tonya made me look beautiful and natural, and I LOVED my hair!! I brought numerous 'outfits' with me and Maggie did a great job helping me decide what to go with and which outfits would look best. While I brought some of my own jewelry, they also have a great selection of gorgeous jewelry that you can borrow to wear during the shoot, as well. When it came time to get started, I was SO nervous at first - but my discomfort didn't last long! I normally feel really awkward during solo photo shoots but Maggie and Tonya were awesome and helping me pose in a way that looked great but that also felt natural. Trust me - if I can do it, anyone can!! Before long I was actually enjoying myself. It sounds silly but being all dressed up with your hair and makeup done and being photographed makes you feel like a celebrity or a model - and who wouldn't want to feel like a model for a day? When I went back for my second appointment to pick out which photos to use, Maggie was incredibly helpful and made the process very easy and simple. And when I received the final product, I was so impressed! The photos looked gorgeous and the book is high quality. Overall, not only did I have a great album of photos to give to my boyfriend (which he loved!) but I found the entire experience to be very empowering. Women are great at beating ourself up and noting our flaws and weaknesses, and doing this photo shoot made me shift my perspective and focus instead on my strengths. As a last second wedding gift, I decided I wanted to do a budoir photo shoot for my husband as a wedding gift. I searched around and spoke with a few places and none were as accommodating as Revealed! They were able to get me in on a week's notice so that the album could be done in time for the wedding. I was a little nervous going into this as I am not a "sexy diva" lol. When I arrived at the studio, both Maggie and Laurie were there as well as their manager and make up and hair stylist - all female. We immediately put outfits I brought together, with their help and expertise, and then I got started with hair and make up while drinking a glass (maybe 2!) of champagne to calm my nerves! I LOVED my hair and makeup, felt gorgeous! I usually don't wear lots of make up and didn't want a ton, so she was aware of this and it was by far the best make up I've ever had done professionally! During the shoot, they all made me feel so comfortable and sexy and really brought me out of my comfort zone - in a great way! About a week later I went back to look at the final pictures and picked the ones I wanted for the album. Couldn't have been happier with the final result and neither could my now husband! I cannot recommend this experience and the expertise of Maggie and and Kelly enough. They create such a classy, customized and personalized experience. I was very hesitant about doing a shoot in the first place and did a lot of research on different studios. Once I decided to do it and book my shoot, they were able to get me in within a week due to my tight timeline. Everything about the experience was so relaxing and empowering. The hair and make-up was perfect. Tanya made me look better than I ever have but also very natural which is exactly what I was looking for. Maggie helped walk me through every single pose and made me get out of my comfort zone to create some incredible shots. Once the pictures were done, I met with Kelly to look over them and pick an amazing layout for my book. Kelly was great at helping to narrow down all the amazing shots and piece them together to create a totally tasteful and artistic look. I did this as a gift for my now husband on our wedding day and he was completely surprised and shocked by the gift. It was definitely one-of-a-kind and totally unexpected coming from me which is exactly what I wanted. I had an unforgettable experience at Revealed! This was my second time doing a boudoir photography shoot, and this experience was far superior. My now husband is sooo hard to but gifts for, but I still wanted to do something that was just for him as a wedding gift. I went back and forth on doing a boudoir shoot, but I am SO glad I went through with it. I've known Maggie for a few years and always admired her boudoir photography with Revealed, so when I got engaged I knew I wanted to set up a shoot to surprise my future hubby! I'm pretty outgoing and was so excited about the shoot, that I didn't expect to be nervous for my session. A few days beforehand though, I started worrying about what I would wear, and what if I didn't like my pictures, and what if my man didn't like them??? Just when I started to worry, Maggie and Laurie sent me an email with all the information i needed to prepare for the shoot (ideas on what to wear, asking if I wanted my hair/makeup done, music suggestions to set the mood, etc), and it got me really excited for the day. When I arrived, they took a look at everything I brought, and while I was getting glammed up (and sipping a mimosa) we discussed which outfits would work best, ideas for pictures etc. They walked me through the whole process and I felt totally comfortable every step of the way. They were so great at helping me bring out the best I had in every situation, giving me tips but still letting me be myself. The whole day was a great confidence booster, and really just a ton of fun!! When I got my pictures back, I couldn't believe how great they were-was that really me?! Sorry for the late review but better late than never! I had my boudoir shoot back in April and my wedding was in May. Needless to say, Kelly worked with me regarding scheduling the shoot, then rescheduling, the actual shoot itself and picking out photos! They were all great - Kelly, Jaycie (the amazing makeup artist) and the photographer (who for the life of me could not remember her name). I had the chance to meet Maggie when I was picking out photos for my book, she was just about to come back from maternity leave. Everybody was wonderful! The pictures turned out really great, more than what I was expecting and more than what I hoped for. HOT DAMM! I cannot recommend Revealed Studios enough. I went in for a boudoir shoot and from the moment I stepped through the door Maggie and Kelly and my makeup artist Anjelica made me feel/look like a freaking goddess. Maggie gave very subtle but extremely helpful direction for my posing so I didn't look a drunk giraffe , and Kelly acted as the back up phtographer/moral support/ champagne queen. I did not feel awkward for even half a second because they were so supportive and professional. The shoot was supposed to be a present for my husband but it ended up being a super empowering afternoon with some kickass ladies ( my husband still loved it and my butt looked like a billion dollars so win win). I had never done any photo shoot before let alone a mostly naked one and they made it an experience I highly recommend to any and all my friends, possibly even my mother. Not to mention the space they shoot in is very artistic and industrial chic. My cool quotient went up ten points just from being in the building. Do it. Book it. Although I was unsure if someone of my age (57) should do a photo shoot, I thought I would try it as a gift for my future husband. They assured me that they would make me feel comfortable and get some great shots. I shopped carefully, and arrived still with some hesitation. The makeup and hair artist was very good and knew how to bring out the best. Maggie and Laurie are both encouraging and know how to make you feel comfortable. We had a great time throughout the photo shoot. They assured me that they could airbrush out anything I didn't like. After seeing the photos, it was not really necessary to airbrush anything. The staging, the natural light, the camera angles were used to get the best shots possible. I was only going to purchase one or two and ended up buying 4! If I could have afforded more, I would have bought an entire album! I would recommend Revealed Studios, Maggie & Laurie to everyone! It was a great experience! read more
