Recently I had the privilege of doing a boudoir photo shoot with Maggie and Laurie at Revealed Studios. For quite a while I've admired their amazing work and secretly wanted to be photographed by them. However, like a lot of women I'm not comfortable being photographed and am not overly confident in my skivvies. I did it anyway. Part of what convinced me(besides their gorgeous work) to listen to that little voice saying "Go For It" is that I am at a point in my life where I have deep gratitude for having a healthy body (no matter what it looks like) and a healthy mind. Also I became a grandmother, which has had a way of making me want to stay connected to myself as a woman no matter my age or stage in life (a lesson I learned as a mom). The experience was wonderful and I have images that I truly love! I could go on and on as to why I wholeheartedly recommend these awesome ladies and encourage you to "Go For It" if you're considering a shoot. Here are some of those reasons: * Not for one second did I feel that my body was being judged. Period. * They listened to my concerns and put my mind at ease. I told Laurie and Maggie my worries/body issues and they were not dismissive and assured me they would photograph me as I wished and "fix" anything in the end I didn't like. (BTW, there was nothing I didn't like!). * They offer all kinds of help in preparing for your shoot. They helped in choosing what to wear, my accessories, my hair, etc. Maggie and Laurie were available to answer questions at any point. * They listened to my ideas as to the different types of "looks" I wanted. I really liked having input into my shoot. They let me be me and really "got" what I wanted. Their shoots are not formulaic or full of robotic poses, it's very personal. * It's fun. Really. Everything in the process is fun, planning what to wear, getting hair and make up done (I had Jaycie who was Awesome!) and the actual shoot, it's all fun. We laughed so much throughout the day! Laurie and Maggie are warm, easy going and a blast to be with, yet are total professionals. I didn't want the shoot to end - who would have thought? * Unexpectedly it's a confidence builder. I'm proud of myself for pushing through my comfort level to do something I never thought I could do. Just a glimpse at some frames they shot of me during the day left me walking with my head higher and a bounce in my step. I couldn't believe that the girl in the photos was me. I carried that confidence home with me and continue to reflect back on it. There's beauty in all of us. I actually got kind of teary viewing my photos because seeing myself through their lens made me see myself as pretty where I usually see faults. I feel like these images show me as I truly am, who I am, they show the real me in an intimate and meaningful way. All I can say is WOW! Maggie and Laurie are absolutely incredible people and even better photographers. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for classically beautiful (and still very sexy) pictures! I went in for a boudoir photo session to give my fiance as a present for our wedding. Needless to say, I was nervous about the whole process. When I got there, Maggie was there along with the hair and makeup artist (who did a fantastic job!). It was great to get to sit for a little while and get to know Maggie before starting the shoot. One thing that was unexpected and made it even better and more fun is that both Maggie and Laurie were there taking pictures for the whole shoot. It definitely helped me feel more relaxed and comfortable to have two people there instead of just me and one photographer. Their personalities work so well together - Laurie is so high energy and just excited to do her job! Maggie seems to be a calm and very caring person; they work very very well together. They are both absolutely amazing at making a woman feel beautiful! I never imagined I would feel as comfortable as I did and I have the two of them to thank for that! They knew just how much cueing to give, how much encouragement to give without going overboard, and how to just help me see how beautiful the pictures were going to be. The other neat thing was that when I saw the pictures for the first time, it was with Maggie and Laurie sitting right there - they both love to see the person's reaction, and it made it so so much more fun to get to see them for the first time with someone else! I absolutely adore my pictures and I cannot wait to give them to my fiance in a few short months. I've put off writing this review of my boudoir experience for some time now because I literally could not find the words to describe how amazing it was. I contacted Revealed studios in addition to several other Chicago boudoir studios back in March to have a shoot/album put together for a ten year wedding anniversary gift for my husband. I could not be happier with my decision to go with Revealed. I've always been a little self-conscious of my body, and notice my flaws far quicker than most. The thought of being in my underwear in front of stranger was bizarre and a little intimidating. All my fears and inhibitions melted away within seconds, and by the end of the day I have never felt more beautiful. I cannot stress this enough - the women at this studio (Maggie, Laurie, Kelly) bring out your inner beauty and highlight your outer beauty in a way that makes you feel strong, confident, and REAL. At no point did I feel uncomfortable or feel like the shoot wasn't going to show me as ME. Everyone I dealt with from beginning to end was fantastic - not only professional, but kind, supportive and enthusiastic. Every question I had was answered, and there were no hidden costs or surprises along the way. I couldn't be happier with my album. I think I might look at it more than my husband! I look... beautiful! But I also look like ME - not some super airbrushed fake version of myself. I see all the things I love about myself, and in a way that makes me happy! I absolutely loved my shoot! From the first phone call I felt comfortable, safe and ready to have my pictures done for my husband's 40th birthday. Doing a boudoir album was something I had heard about a few years ago, but never thought it was something I would do. As my husband's 40th started looming, I really couldn't think of what gift I could give him that he didn't already have or that he couldn't buy himself. I realized that putting myself out there and taking a risk would be worth it! I know my husband finds me beautiful in our everyday life, but with little kids and busy lives, I thought he would really enjoy seeing me a little glammed up and sexy, just for him. He was blown away when he opened the box! I think the client experience was perfect! I loved the champagne, the temperature of the coach house, the robe and the music. I also really appreciated the efforts to find a makeup artist who was comfortable with my preference for vegan makeup and products. After the shoot, there was no pressure while I decided which photos I liked best or in picking out my album. The album I chose came professionally packaged, of great quality and vegan! Both Kelly and Maggie were very responsive to questions and extremely professional. I never once felt uncomfortable! They were also very good at talking me through how to move and hold my body and face during the shoot. I was searching for the perfect gift for my husband of almost 20 years for Christmas and had heard about boudoir photos and thought I would start looking for a place in Chicago that did this. I immediately found Revealed Studios and was impressed by their work I saw on their website. I was really nervous, but bit the bullet and scheduled a co-shoot with my best friend who wanted to do this for her husband. When I first met Kelly and Maggie I immediately felt at ease because they were so personable and charming. I was SO nervous at first, as was my friend, but I'm happy to say that within minutes of us starting I felt comfortable. As the shoot progressed throughout the day, I came out of my shell with their coaching. They were so talented and amazing and made me feel so beautiful, sexy and amazing. I came home and told all my friends about my experience and how good it made me feel about myself. I would highly recommend that every woman do this for their significant other...but most importantly, to do it for themselves (even if they have no significant other). We went back to see our proofs and to pick out our album and I was absolutely floored by the results. I couldn't believe how sexy and amazing I looked! As a last second wedding gift, I decided I wanted to do a budoir photo shoot for my husband as a wedding gift. I searched around and spoke with a few places and none were as accommodating as Revealed! They were able to get me in on a week's notice so that the album could be done in time for the wedding. I was a little nervous going into this as I am not a "sexy diva" lol. When I arrived at the studio, both Maggie and Laurie were there as well as their manager and make up and hair stylist - all female. We immediately put outfits I brought together, with their help and expertise, and then I got started with hair and make up while drinking a glass (maybe 2!) of champagne to calm my nerves! I LOVED my hair and makeup, felt gorgeous! I usually don't wear lots of make up and didn't want a ton, so she was aware of this and it was by far the best make up I've ever had done professionally! During the shoot, they all made me feel so comfortable and sexy and really brought me out of my comfort zone - in a great way! About a week later I went back to look at the final pictures and picked the ones I wanted for the album. Couldn't have been happier with the final result and neither could my now husband! This was such a great experience! I decided to do this kind of on a last minute whim for my husband's birthday. I knew that in order to go through with this, I had to just do it and not really stew too much over it...and I'm so glad I did! I did have some anxiety as I had never done anything like this before (and feeling "older" at 43), but once I arrived at the coach house, it was like all of my anxiety disappeared immediately. Maggie & Kelly are great to work with. They provided great, simple direction throughout the entire photo shoot. Their laid back vibe totally made the experience very easy. I loved that they asked about your favorite style icons and also favorite music in the initial survey, and thought it was cool that they played this music during my shoot. The sparkling wine added a nice touch too! The hair stylist/makeup artist (Angelica) was excellent and was super fun to talk with (got me to put on fake eyelashes for the first time...now I'm hooked!) The results were absolutely fabulous, and my husband absolutely loves them. I could go on and on about how much fun this was. I followed Revealed Studios for a while before I finally worked up the nerve to try it myself, and I am so glad I did! From the first nervous moment walking into the gorgeous loft studio, they put you at ease with friendly greetings, laughter, and an attitude that makes you feel like you've walked into a old friend's house. Professional hair and make up, help talking through outfits, and a little champagne to loosen up are just a few of the ways they set the stage for a wonderful experience. Lots of women think of a boudoir photo shoot as a gift for a significant other, but I wanted to do it more for myself! Never in my life have I felt so brave, beautiful or confident in my own skin, and I credit that to the incredible way Maggie and Kelly captured a side of myself I didn't know existed. I will never forgot the feeling of looking at a few pictures of myself and thinking "holy cow, is that me?!" These ladies are the best and working with them was so much more than gorgeous photographs, it was a truly empowering experience I will never forget! read more

I decided to do a boudoir shoot as a wedding gift for my fiance (now husband) and I was a little nervous at first not knowing what to expect. Maggie and Kelly were truly amazing to work with. They make you feel very comfortable the moment you walk in the door. The shoot lasted a few hours and by the end of it I was having so much fun with them I didn't want it to end. They will walk you through every pose and they truly brought me out of my comfort zone. We got some amazing pictures and Kelly helped me pick out the perfect layout for my album. My husband was blown away by the album and pictures! I would recommend doing a boudoir shoot with Revealed Studios not only as a wedding gift, but also a gift for yourself! Not to mention, I usually NEVER like getting my make-up done but Tanya was also great. It was very natural but sexy at the same time and she was there throughout the shoot to do touch-ups. The absolute best! I booked a session with Maggie & Kelly as a gift to my partner during a long-distance stretch of our relationship, and as a way to push myself outside of my comfort zone. Everything was amazing- my hair and makeup made me look like an exceptionally fabulous version of myself (not like a whole other person!). Maggie and Kelly were incredibly kind and made sure that I was comfortable the whole time, including adjusting the temperature as needed. They are hilarious and smart and fun to hang out with. As you can see from their website, they don't try to shove women into a mold of what society says is sexy- they look for the unique beauty in each client, and their images showcase strength and femininity together. The turnaround time from our initial phone call to the shoot til I had the album in my hands was remarkably fast (I think about 8 weeks altogether). From the start, Maggie and Kelly were responsive and flexible in working with my schedule, and they were sensitive to my timing issues and made sure I had my final product well before the needed date. The shoot itself was a lot of fun. The makeup and hair styling was impeccable, and I was amazed at how good I looked. Maggie and Kelly made me feel at ease and gave me confidence right from the start. They were incredibly professional throughout the shoot and gave very helpful guidance to make sure I posed in the most flattering way for every shot. Every woman -- bride-to-be or not -- should have this experience. I originally booked a photo session as a wedding gift for my husband, but during the shoot realized this was just as much a gift for myself. First of all, you spend the day getting pampered: Maggie and Kelly work with super fun hair and makeup artists to make you feel comfortable and look your best while you sip Champagne. The photo shoot itself is actually empowering. I usually hate having my picture taken, but Maggie and Kelly truly know how to make you each women look amazing. They're funny and laid-back, and happy to work with you to achieve whatever vibe you're going for -- they put any nerves at ease. The finished product is a gorgeous keepsake (and the turnaround is super quick!). I did a last minute boudoir photo shoot as a wedding gift for my husband, right before the holidays, and they were so so kind in squeezing me in and turning around the pictures in time for the big day. AMAZING!!!! Kelly and Maggie were both a dream to work with! I had so much fun and the pictures turned out incredibly! I couldn't believe it was me in the pictures! Even after a few bumps in the road with printing the album both Kelly and Maggie kept me updated and in the loop with shipping dates.
