My son, age 12, recently restarted Tae Kwon Do after being away from it for a couple of years. We…read morechose Min Hur because it is close to home and we like the approach of Grand Master Min Hur and his instructor Mr. Barrios. For the record, I hate going to gyms (waiting on machines, then watching people glare at me as I use the machine I had been waiting on), I don't like to run, and swimming for me is a seat on the bench in the pool with a cold beverage in hand. But I do need to exercise. So it was just a few weeks ago that I put my 48 year old body through a trial class at Min Hur's and I've been hooked ever since. The classes are invigorating, the instructors are patient, and I am learning a life skill. But most importantly, I've gained a great activity that I can share with my son. What more could I ask for? One big plus here - they offer family classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and my son and I can also work out together on Saturday mornings as well. Yes, he outranks me - and I'm constantly reminded of that. But I couldn't have asked for a better way to get back in shape - and I will beat him to black belt! Thanks Min Hur!

Over his years he has won 6 State Championship 1st places. The biggest benefit is the discipline, focus and team work that has developed in him over the years has help him break out of his shell and develop into a wonderful person. Last but not least...it gets them off those damn phones and game consoles. You CAN NOT bear her price anywhere! She keeps cost down by using Bluemound Recreational Center as her dojo. She passes that savings to you. I cannot say enough about who she is as a person, instructor and second mother to my son.

Even from a spectators prospective I feel I have learned alot even though I have never participated in classes. Instructor Mr. Tyler is a fourth degree black belt with multiple state championships under his belt. Mr. Tyler pairs his vast knowledge of martial arts with a tasteful sense of humor to keep students engaged and having fun. Instructor Mrs. Wood-Tyler is a sixth degree black belt with multiple state championships under her belt. Mrs. Wood-Tyler's cheerful, firm and caring personality gives Mrs. Wood-Tyler a natural ability to teach and teach well. The students at TSK not only learn karate but also useful and practical skills for everyday life like stranger danger, self defense and respect for others. I can't recommend them enough.
