On the other hand, I resent the fact that I now apparently need to buy a container to house another container of stuff. We are living in a time where you are expected to pour your perfectly good box of Cheerios into a more aesthetically pleasing box before placing it in your cupboard. I am really supposed to believe the original box is no longer acceptable? Enter The Container Store, which both soothes and triggers me. I am currently in what I can only describe as a soul crushing transitional phase of life. I have just moved. I do not have dressers yet. Not because I cannot buy them, but because I refuse to be trigger happy and purchase something I will regret. I am painfully picky about furniture. So instead of making a rash decision, I am living out of boxes. Yes. Boxes for clothes. Plastic containers for makeup. Random bins for food. It is not glamorous. I DO have a pantry... I'm in a new construction home.... everything is fresh, new and oh so not organized... This time, I am trying to approach it differently. Buy exactly what I need. Not the whole store. Just what serves a purpose right now. That is how I ended up with roller storage solutions, including a Hulken bag, which is actually kind of brilliant. It is sturdy, has wheels, looks cool, and currently houses clothes that either do not fit or need alterations. I can move it around easily, which in this dresser free existence feels like luxury. There are genuinely smart solutions in that store. The Elfa system is excellent. I have had California Closets before and loved them. There are plenty of closet systems out there that can transform a space into something functional and beautiful. But my core pain at the moment is simple. I do not have dressers. I cannot put anything away. Everything feels temporary, stacked, shifted, mobile. The Container Store gives you tools to create order. It just also reminds you how much order you do not currently have.

Twice. And was willing to give them the business based on. reviews. I have 3 closets to be done. I have pics of the custom closets that we had before and said I just want it replicated. Nope. Due to the fact that I will be traveling the entire month of May, I said I could have them come out and look, measure, etc. Then just give me the quote and I'll pay immediately, as long as they are in by June 1. The girl answering the phone said I HAVE to come to Wildwood to see what they design and see it on the big screen. Basically, the big, fancy selling pitch. I again explained that I cannot do that, but they can send me drawings and I'll ok them by email. Nope. The selling pitch is REQUIRED. Seriously? I just said they had the job! Let's just skip the hard sell and move forward. Nope again. I guess business must be pretty darn good to throw away an easy sale of 3 custom closets. Don't waste your time. I'm thinking their pricing must be high if they need that kind of time to hard sell. I'll just move on - but, I hope someone from the company sees this and realizes that, especially after Covid and everyone going to Zoom selling, that they are missing a large percentage of the population that doesn't need all of that - they just need shelving. Nice shelving, yes, but not San hour drive to sell me what I was trying to already pay for. That's just a bad business plan.
