I interviewed more than 10 videographers in Chicago to get a sense of whose team fit my needs better, and Turning Point Productions definitely stood out the most for its fair pricing and impeccable work. First of all, this team was always responsive when I had a question or concern. I never met Frank, the editor, or Katie, the studio manager, but they were always available via emails or phone. I talked to Frank many times on the phone before I booked, and he understood exactly what I wanted and what I didn't. He ensured me that there will be no "hand-held effect" in my video, and he was very flexible with my wedding timeline. The team of two videographers arrived on time and dressed appropriately on my wedding day. They were very polite and detail-oriented. They captured all the important moments I requested such as first look with my husband and when my dad put down my blusher before walking me down the aisle etc. For all the fun parts like opening the dance floor, of course they did an amazing job as well. They also filmed in some unexpected angles that ended up making the whole video very touching! Frank is an excellent editor, and I'm not saying this because he did such a wonderful job at editing my video. I was so confident in him and his skills even before booking. His portfolio was very self-explanatory. When I received my trailer just seven days after my wedding, I was so touched by he told the story and all the special moments captured. Even to this day, I don't think I've seen any of my friends who went with other videographers has better wedding videos. The studio manager, Katie, was another wonderful person whom I was so glad to be working with. I communicated with her via emails when I was overseas. She was very responsive, easy to work with and always addressed my questions and concerns 100-percent! All and all, I can't recommend Turning Point Productions enough. I found Y Not 3 searching for companies that digitize 8mm and 16mm videos. Their price is the best…read moreI've found anywhere, and I've compared them to about 30 shops. A LOT of places are digitizing old still and motion film for much more than Y Not 3. Added to that, Y Not 3 has fantastic customer service. It took less than ten days from the moment I dropped them in USPS to the moment they returned. Also, most places wouldn't let me put my own jump drive in the box for use (a lot of places charge $35-50 for a jump drive in lieu of a CD.) Y Not 3 put the files on the jump drive and didn't charge me extra. They're very responsive and replied to all my e-mails -- including the initial website form e-mail -- in less than 24 hours. In fact, a couple of times I had responses from them within an hour. That's a rare and fantastic customer service few of their competitors can match, and likely none can beat. They do their work with the personal touch of a small shop and the professional results of a large shop. I was so happy with my first set of digitized films, that I just mailed them another 1,000 feet of 8mm and 16mm film to digitize. If you need movies, slides, still pictures, VHS tapes, and so forth digitized, Y Not 3 should be the first place you look into, and may well be the only shop you need to check. They're really, truly fabulous.

Tightrope Recording, and their owner Max, did not live up to their promises. They promised a great…read morerecording and finished mixes for one price of $1500. They did a great job recording, but sent us home with only the rough cut, and no finished mixes. They claimed that it took a lot of effort to set up for a multi-instrument band and they had to bring in extra help, thus extra cost. They had no more money or time to finish the mixes. Max had the audacity to say that each song would be at least another $350 to finish, even though he promised us finished mixes when we spoke on the phone. I feel that this was unscrupulous practice. Make sure you get your promises in writing from Max, or he may just try to swindle you.

The entire recording process was enjoyable and stress-free, I was there a lot so that's saying something- Overall I can't recomend them enough.
