I must tell you about this gem of a doctor! I have been going to Dr. Scarborough for several years…read moresince we moved here, having chosen her at first because her practice was nearby. Without reservation, she's the best primary care doctor I've ever had, bar none. Every person on her staff has been kind, professional, and caring--every time! Even if I move an hour or two away, Dr. Scarborough will continue to be my doctor. She is a rare individual and doctor: more like a friend who cares about my welfare and as well as my health. She always schedules enough time during visits to actually talk with patients and then listens to them, then follows through to address any health issues that need her attention. We aren't shuffled through her office like a number to quickly move out of the way, but as a person who is there for her help and expertise. If I've had to call after hours for a pressing issue(which I've done a couple of times), either she or her NP Holly always calls me back quickly and takes care of what I need. I'm a grandmother, years older than she, but we're "on the same page," and I've never felt or seen any condescension from her or her staff (which is more common everywhere these days toward older people). I highly recommend her without reservation, and that includes the ladies who check in patients, the nurses, lab staff, and anyone else I've had the pleasure of interacting with there. If you're looking for a primary care doctor, you need look no further than Dr. Cameka Scarborough on Hartley Bridge Road, Macon, Georgia.

I went here when Dr. Thigpen, my long time GP, moved here. When he left private practice a few…read moreyears ago, I was fortunate to began seeing NP Shandora Hayman-Jones about once a month for a shot. She is wonderful. Her empathy, patience, and knowledge have been of the highest quality. If she can't answer a question, she finds out the answer and relays it promptly. I can't praise her skills enough. I trust her. Highly recommended.

This office has gone downhill. I was a patient for a long time before moving out of the area…read more After moving back, I tried them once again, and it has been one disaster after the other. The receptionist submitted the wrong lab test order to the lab technician when I checked in for my scheduled lab appointment. As a result, I had to go back for more blood to be drawn, costing me more time and money. This is not the first costly mistake that I've experienced here, nor, sadly has it been the last. There appears to be little to no communication among the office staff. No one can answer any questions, even simple, general questions that would normally be handled by competent office staff. Instead, the patient is handed off to someone else, who in turn either can't or won't answer questions either. The onus is on the patient to figure out their processes, yet asking questions to understand that process or to try to resolve an issue, is actively discouraged through rudeness and passing the patient off to someone else for an elusive answer that never comes. No one listens to understand what the challenge is, nor do they show any interest or initiative in resolving the actual issue. Solutions are non-existent and, as a result, the quality of care has deteriorated significantly. The problem appears to lie with the office staff rather than the nurse practitioners, who seem to be competent and capable. Perhaps better training for your office staff on clear processes, problem resolution, and setting of expectations will prevent more patients from leaving before you no longer have a viable practice.

I had an excellent experience with this office. I saw NP Tiffany Carswell and I was very pleased…read morewith my visit. She took blood work on me and I had an EKG done. She referred me out to. Cardiologist. I also gave a urine sample. She extensive notes on my health and scheduled me for a follow up visit. For the first time in many years I felt I had good visit with a medical professional. Ms. Carswell listened to me. I did not feel rushed. I was reading the comments below and I am surprised this place is fee based. I have insurance, and I earn enough to not be subjected to any income based pricing. However even being fee based the patients get an excellent quality of care if they all recieved the same level of care I did. In all honesty, fee based or not, I'd choose this clinic over other medical offices that are not fee based. I had a better, more through, visit here than I've had anywhere else in years.

The recording playing throughout said "one of our team members will assist you, there are 2 callers ahead of you" then there was one caller left, then I was sent to voicemail. The front office also cannot figure out how to bill the correct insurance I have. As far as how being seen by the doctor goes, I've waited 30-45 minutes in the patient room to see the doctor. The last time I went, he said he would have to research if there's any medicines he can prescribe that don't interact with what I currently take. He seemed rushed, probably because he was so behind, but I never did get that prescription. All in all, unless you get lucky, this place will waste A LOT of your time.
