Apollo is a sweet pit mix but his nervousness can make exams difficult, and in the past, others haven't been able to work with him without rescheduling. I had forgotten to give Apollo his anxiety medication for this visit. Ariel, however, took the time to comfort him, build trust, and make sure he felt safe. She was able to gently complete his exam, give him his medication, and administer his allergy shot without rushing the process. This was by far the best bedside manner I've ever experienced at a veterinary office. You can tell Ariel truly cares about the animals she works with, and it made all the difference for Apollo and me. I'll definitely be coming back to this location and requesting Ariel for our future visits. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

I'm writing this because I lost my dog, and it could have been prevented. I brought my dog in to see Dr. Gant after she'd been sick and getting worse over the course of a day and a half. After examining her, Dr. Gant diagnosed her with Pyometra and told me she needed emergency surgery. He also said that if we couldn't afford surgery, he could put her on a few rounds of antibiotics and clear it up. I didn't want to put her through a risky surgery as she was 10 years old and already weak. It didn't make sense if the antibiotics would work -- as he said they would -- and I also didn't want to take on the expense of an emergency surgery if there was a less invasive option that could help her. He had told me he had seen other dogs treated of Pyometra with antibiotics and said it should be fine. He took an X-ray and said it didn't look as bad as he originally thought, so he sent her home with antibiotics and some food. Just two hours later, my husband found her unable to stand and gasping for air. We were scared and called Dr. Gant's office, but he was extremely rude to my husband, who was trying to get help for our dog. He accused me of lying about what he'd said and told us to take her to the ER. She stopped breathing in the ER parking lot. They tried CPR, but she didn't make it. The emergency vet told us there should have only been two options given to us when she was diagnosed earlier that day: 1) Emergency surgery or 2) Euthanasia. If I had known that Pyometra could cause her cervix to close and uterus to rupture if left untreated, I would never have brought her home. I would've done anything to prevent her from dying in pain. Instead, I was sent home with false hope. I was told we could follow up in two days if she hadn't improved, and he scheduled me to come back for more antibiotics in two weeks for a follow-up. He never told me there was potential for her to pass in a matter of seconds from this illness. That advice cost my sweet girl her life. I'm not writing this to be spiteful or to get revenge on Dr. Gant. My concern is not with him. I'm writing this because I miss my baby girl every day, and I never want anyone else to go through what we did. No one's fur baby should have to die in so much pain. If this helps even one person avoid that pain, then sharing our story was worth it.

It was very easy to get in for a sudden appointment as a new client. The inside is very clean and beautifully decorated with portraits of dogs, as well as books. I filled out basic paperwork and was taken back quickly. The rooms were nice standard rooms with informative posters on the walls. Sarah was our tech. She was very friendly and it was apparent that she loves dogs. We went through issues my dog was having. She asked me lots of questions to get as much information as possible and allowed me to thoroughly explain without feeling rushed. Once she finished the paperwork and took my pup's temperature, she went to the back to get the doctor. Dr. Sloan came in and listened to my concerns. He explained what we could do and what he would recommend. Not once did I feel like I was being pushed to spend a fortune on unnecessary tests. I decided to do some bloodwork. He did that and gave me some prescriptions for my dog. Sarah came back in and went over everything. She was awesome enough to even cut the pills according to the prescription guidelines. I paid and walked out feeling a lot more at ease. That I have finally found a place that seems concerned and caring without trying to take every dime I have. I received a call the next day with the bloodwork results. Then, I received a call 2 days after to check up on my pet. I think that was really thoughtful. I can't say I'm surprised though because this is the kind of service you expect when people care.

Being fully transparent, he is kind of a jerk and runs our home but mostly well behaved and very well trained outside of the house. I'm really the only one that loves him and he's truly my soul mutt. I cannot describe the absolute JOY it brings me to walk into the vet and hear them yell his name with excitement that he is there. We visit often for allergies and anxiety so they do know us. I've seen both of the vets here (i learned they are brothers) and both have been knowledgeable and helpful. Always answered all my questions and made me feel like my cat is in good hands. She had a toe ulcer and needed an antibiotic shot, wound cleaning, and a cone - i included a photo of the invoice for transparency. Some other reviews mentioned pricing as an issue, and although it wasnt a cheap visit ~ i dont think the prices are astronomical. Medical care and having pets in general is expensive, but it's definitely not the veterinarians fault. They also recommended we get "MiconaHex+Triz" wipes from amazon for some cat acne she had on her chin and recommended we switch to a ceramic or glass bowl to prevent bacterial growth. Ive been coming here since 2021 and its always been a positive experience. The wait was a little long once we got in the waiting room, but i understand that there is a lot going on and lots of other pet patients to see and help so it makes sense! All the staff i have interacted with seem friendly and apologetic of any wait times as well! I feel that my cat is always well taken care of and i do feel like she is in good hands here!

Within a week, we could tell it was infected and he was doing poorly. We took him to Dr. K who re-performed the surgery, fixed what the other vet did, debrided and cleaned him up. He looked so much better, and started to heal. Dr. K is also incredibly knowledgeable and is great with pets. He knows so much about medical conditions and treatments- one of the smartest guys I've met. He will talk to my cats and pet them for a few minutes to get them more comfortable before jumping in to the exam. His bedside manner is unparalleled. When we had to put my grandma's chihuahua down a few years later due to cancer, the entire staff at CCPH was wonderful. Dr. K is very compassionate and caring, and made my grandma feel a lot better.
