I was surprised at how strong she was . CC used her arms as well as hands for a deep soothing , almost stretching at times massage . She even pulled my fingers and I felt them pop ! That was so relaxing! This neck thing she did by pulling upward was also amazing ! As someone else has mentioned - English isn't the first language here so there are menus on the wall when you walk in - you point at the amount of time you want , the different types of massage ( Swedish , hot stone etc ) be sure you are clear . There is a clock that has a timer in your room - and you do get the ENTIRE hour! (Most places give you 45 min .) if you want lavender or coconut oil it's an extra 10$ ( I am not big on scents so didn't add this ) It was honestly the best massage I've had in Birmingham! CC is amazing ! And there is a system to how she worked ( I tried to point out my shoulders hold most tension & not sure she understood completely- but she covered EVERYTHING! After my massage, I went for my pedicure. My sister was with me and we were both getting pedicures. There was only one nail technician so we each had to wait while the other got her pedicure. However, we didn't mind the wait and I felt like I got a really good pedicure. So the cons here are that the spa is very small. Definitely call ahead if you are wanting to use any of the services. She had me sign my Groupon as "fulfilled," including a $94 service charge and promised a written confirmation via email that my next appointment would be completely free. After several days of follow-up, I finally received written confirmation of the future comped couples massage. When we returned a month later, the massage itself was good--but only lasted 69 minutes instead of the advertised 80. At checkout, I was charged a mandatory 22% "service charge" on top of tip, despite being told previously everything was comped. The service charge I was told doesn't go to the therapists but "covers the facilities." (There was not so much as a sauna in terms of facilities.) The front desk insisted the charge still applied, even though it was never disclosed in the Groupon terms and I had proof that it had been levied in appointment one. The manager who handled my situation was unavailable. I finally just paid it and left, but won't be returning. Between the staffing issue, lack of transparency, 11 unfulfilled yet billed minutes, and inconsistent policies, the experience felt disorganized and misleading. Before he starts on my second leg, I ask again if we could focus on my back and neck area. He said we will finish up there and proceeds to massage both of my arms. When he finally makes it to my neck, with little time left, I ask if I can turn back over because it was hurting. He says if I turn over it will hurt worse and he proceeds even though I'm in obvious pain. At this point, saying anything is pointless as I've been rudely dismissed from the start of this session.
