From the moment this sale of Showboat restaurant was announced, we were all waiting on pins and needles to see what was going to happen. Thankfully, our hometown chef Tyler Frelitz was at the helm. I had previous experience hiring Chef Tyler for a party of mine. I thought he had vast knowledge and attention to detail- and his food was fantastic. Now that I have visited his restaurant multiple times, I feel comfortable giving a full review. Chesaning has been missing a place for adults to go. We have great places for families and kids, but we have been lacking dedication to a great cocktail menu and finer dining. Restore's cocktail menu is fantastic. I have sat by the bar, upstairs, and full table service. All places have given me consistency and a unique experience. They offer high end to draft beer. Glittery drinks to smoking ones. It makes for a fun environment! The food! I cannot go without getting the street corn fries as an appetizer! We have had the ribs and bacon pork, as well, but the fries are my go to! My favorite entree has been the ribeye. It was cooked to perfection and had wonderful flavor. If the cost of the steak is too much for you, the burger, appetizers as an entree, or fish sandwich are also great! Each time I go in, I find something new that I like. We ate at Restore 242 three different times, and honestly... beyond amazing every single time. Breakfast was absolutely out of this world. I thought I could make biscuits and gravy at home -- I was very, very wrong The stuffed hashbrowns were top notch and packed with fresh ingredients. For dinner, we had the poke bowl and the hippie bowl and both were to die for. The chicken was grilled perfectly, and the tuna was super fresh and delicious. We also tried the Brussels sprouts and the crab rangoon cheese sticks -- SO good. The menu is priced fairly for the quality of food you get, which we really appreciated. And definitely give the drinks a try too, because they're amazing. The restaurant itself is very upscale with a great vibe, but still totally kid-friendly. I am not sure where to start. The food, the owner, staff, service, cleanliness, ambiance.... this place has it all and they are doing everything right! For a small town like Chesaning, Restore 242 is a breath of fresh air. Bringing life back to our small town one delicious plate at a time. I have ate many different dishes from their menu and I have not been dissatisfied. If you are looking for a high quality meal with menu options that are different than your typical restaurant, Restore 242 is where it's at! My first experience here was wonderful. The food was great, friendly service, and delicious drinks. We tried multiple appetizers and entrees and everything was delicious. I Brussel sprouts were great, and Poke bowl was delicious and fun, and I can say it may be the best French onion soup I have ever had at a restaurant. After the first visit, I couldn't wait to go again. The second visit, was as great as the first. The signature chicken sandwich was wonderful and the cocktails were tasty. The remodeling is amazing. Giant murals of historic downtown Chesaning. The staff is great and they are very friendly and knowledgeable. The food is a variety of healthy complete meals that are not offered by other restaurants in the area!
