They did tests but with no vet at the clinic. He would have to wait for surgery or 10k to bring a vet in. The only surgery on that day that was offered was to removed the eye. We paid $530 for the test and antibiotics because my dad wanted to save the eye so we brought him back home. Look at if the swelling was going down, with the medication. The swelling went down but his eye is still not getting back into place. (They had to pull it to do the test) The dog now has lost vision in the eye and we would run the risk of infection. So we called to book an appointment on Monday. We got an appointment for the following Wednesday. Appointment on march 13. I showed up around 9:45AM my dad was already there with the dog. They showed up at 9 as they were priority and needed to come in (receptionist conversation with dad). They had to leave so I stayed with the dog. It is currently 12:07 I don't know when they will bring him in for surgery. No update its a very long time to wait. I just seen a vet tech around 12:20 she took his weight and told me they would run more test but probably no surgery today... unless we would try to save his eyes... so now they are offering to save his eyes...3 days after... however what is the point of appointment if we lose a whole day and the dog is not being cared for... Nothing more happend... I left around 4:30 I had to go eat a little something. My dad had just got back so we switched. When I came back at 6:35 they were in the office with the vet. We got told to leave him for the night as he would get is operation in the morning tomorrow. And we could pick him up on the 14 in the evening. I have to add that All day (13th) we did not take the chance to feed him because we thought he would be having his surgery and we didn't want him to throw up... from there it seems like he was in good hands the vet called us that evening to Told us about his blood test... I thought that was very thoughtful. Same thing on the 14 nothing...no news. We didn't want to call if he was still recovering. But my dad called at 5:30PM asking if they had any news. He was next in line what ever that meant. (I probably sound like a Karen right now) But I would have appreciated an update. We got news at 6:30PM his operation had been done and... they would need to keep him another night. I will update tomorrow. 7K for the eye removal... they charge emergency price but don't have enough vets to offer reasonable services/treatments. I would not recommend this vet... Also *** While I was waiting a lady was there with her dog. She didn't see anyone for her dog they simply told her after 45 minute waiting. That they did not offer that service to go at another location and charged her $50. I thought that was terrible...

Then within some time a " nurse" triaged him. She told me he seems to have a cough and couldnt really see or hear anything. My goodness! Im not a nurse but given his Symptoms AND he had laboured breathing, so it shouldnt have been treated as some mild incident! We waited in that lil room for another 2 hours when finally I went to the front desk to be told that he wont be seen until later that day or night! Really?!!!! No one informed me and my precious dog had laboured breathing?!!!! I wasnt happy at all , so unprofessional! Then they said( only after me asking how long it will be to see a doctor!!!) They told me to go home and they will call me. In the meantime I drove him to the Eagleson Vet hospital. I called ahead to explain about my fog's laboured breathing. We got there, and they got us a room, and a doctor saw to him right away. He listen to his lungs like the other " triage nurse" at alta vista, and he indeed saw what I saw and heard his lungs! BIG mistake Alta Vista! Then Eagleson Vet Hospital did an xray asap and my poor baby was dying of lung cancer!!! I saw the xrays myself. Very disgusted by Alta Vista Vet Hospital! The Eagleson Vet Hospital gave him meds to help his breathing until I could attange my family to come in to put our sweet doggie out of his suffering! His lungs were full of cancer! The icing on the cske, Alta Vista Vet Hospital called me back more than 24 hours later!!!! Shame on you Alta Vista " Hospital"!!!! DISGUSTED! Shame on you!!!!

They have done well in reminding me of the cats' annual exams, which is great. They also stock a variety of prescription food and such--I have always been able to get my cat's medicated food and pills there easily enough. I started using this clinic when I first moved to Ottawa because of its location to my then apartment, it was very convenient for me. But, in that time my cats have seen a revolving door of doctors--all very good and friendly, but rarely the same one twice. So while the care was good, I have grown tired of explaining my cats' conditions every time I go in. Now that I live downtown, and it's no longer convenient, I will be looking for a new vet that will hopefully remember my pets when I bring them in. 2/30

Last year we decided to go with it since we had no recommendations and we needed to start somewhere. We were obviously spoiled by our awesome vet we had in the last town we lived in because this place is just awful comparatively. I'm a little wary of places that have too many doctors as I never get the same doctor or even the same receptionist, vet tech or vet assistant for each visit. Sometimes when I am in there it feels like the head doesn't know what the tail end is doing. Unorganized and scrambling around. They overcharge. They try to guilt you into paying for blood work, fecal samples and xrays you don't need. Upselling is so incredibly annoying to me, especially when it comes to the health of my animals. A vet recommended I feed my animal Science Diet. Science Diet is one of the lowest quality pet foods out there and can actually cause health problems (I guess they get more money that way down the line). I lost all confidence in this place after being told this. One of their many doctors my animals have seen pushed medicine in the form of a treat for my pet.. My pet wouldn't touch them. I called to see if I could exchange it for a medicine in drop or pill form that my cat would be able to take. I was told that the doctor that had seen my animal is not in and will call me tomorrow morning. Well tomorrow morning came and went and I never received a call back. I called them again and they told me they do not do refunds or exchanges on anything except food. I wish they had told me this before I paid 25 dollars for a 'treat' form of medicine that I was pretty sure my cat wouldn't take. They never mentioned it. Now I am stuck with a bag of medicine that is useless to me. I have dropped approximately 900 dollars here, the least they could do is absorb the cost of the medicine. Now they have lost my business and I will warn anyone who asks for a vet recommendation to stay away. I will be looking for another vet now that I know what type of place this is. It ticks me off when a vet's office cares more about money then the animal they are supposed to be caring for.

If you understand the no-kill shelter facility you do not expect a pretty store front pet shop environment, nor a breeders surroundings. What you see are animals that have been saved from For Profit Kill-shelters (Humane Society etc), unwanted or sick animals in need. There are a few attempts for the human eye, but it is clear that that main focus is on the pets. They take this very seriously and each animal is an individual whose needs are being met whether it's behavioural or medical. They are honest about their past, and due to extenuating circumstances have had a few set-backs; all have been met to above legal standards. The day we visited they had no idea we were coming so there was no "show" being put on. Just a lot of volunteers working hard and a bunch of happy dogs. I saw no aggression in any of them and we were made to feel welcome and was taken on a tour of the entire facility. The owner has some very good ideas to change the law of crating as she feels crating is not an ideal situation for dogs. Due to a fire they are still interior crated at night or put in the few single inside runs that have been built so far. Michelle's vision is to have all dogs in their own interior runs rather than crated at night; with doggie doors to exterior spaces. Her objectives are slowly being implemented and it is evident in her excitement and enthusiasm. This is a charity, so she receives no help from public external sources. All her time and money is put back into the facility. However. I do caution you that if you are wanting a furry friend in your home think long and hard. This is a responsibility that requires your constant love, attention, and care. If you are unable to do this, go buy a Gund.

Offered (repeatedly and provably) to reimburse 100% of any/ALL expenses in full and also provably offered to wholeheartedly VOLUNTEER for which i'm qualified and experienced. Explained wholly the QUESTIONABLE (?!) means by which they came to have my pups in the first place expecting, like ANYONE to resolve to the satisfaction of all involved parties but moreover advocating on behalf of my babies interests and needs 1st with the utmost of their interests and my own responsibilities in mind. They instead deleted their 'adoption post', attempting to actually justify that i 'no longer 'OWN' my dogs' through a series of slanderous, discriminating, misinformed and inflammatory statements posted on my social media and across that platform of my search posts, WITHOUT rebuttal, without any consideration for myself advocating on behalf of my babies interests and needs : that they be returned to their KNOWN LOVING HOME. These are not '$100.00 dogs' or 'property' to me they are FAMILY. Personally, I find this extremely unethical and certainly not in the BEST interests of all parties. Moreover, and with ABSOLUTE certainty, NOT in the best interests of my babies that certainly want to come BACK HOME. I would never surrender my dogs and i'm abhorred that they're being put through this situation. This, in my opinion, most definitely has crossed the line of ridiculous to profound. I NEED my babies home where they belong and certainly where they want to be. I cannot live a normal, productive, and happy life without them, and the biggest part of my pups will forever be missing without me. They are 3 GENERATIONS DEEP, my FAMILY. And i'll not betray the memories of their beloved ancestors, family before them. I don't know what more i can offer or, what I or anyone can do to appease this Corporation's NEEDS! 'BRICKWALLED.' I'm having to repost this as the first attempts were also removed.
