After traveling for a couple weeks, all I wanted was a good burger which can be tough to find outside of the USA. So happy that we found Porta35. The burger and fries were delicious and the restaurant has a nice chill vibe. We sat outside and enjoyed the quiet nightlife of Aveiro. The staff was super friendly and allowed us to order even though the kitchen was set to close in 5 minutes. So grateful!!

My pilot selected O Bairro, and seriously this will be one of the highlight meals of our 8 day trip in Portugal! Our server, Daniel, was incredibly knowledgeable and made us feel very welcomed! As you walk to your right, you see a massive fresh fish lined up on ice, waiting for an owner to claim them. I ordered the Tiger prawns in garlic, not the best. It's in a red sauce with a mild fishy taste but once added some fresh lemon juice, it helped mask the fishy taste; all in all, it wasn't my favorite. The grouper was unbelievably delicious, with beautiful grill marks on both sides of the fish. A bowl of olives to start with cold bread with a side of cold butter. Everyone knows I'm a warm bread and butter girl! The grouper accompanied a soupy rice dish, and it was delicious. All in all, this place was lovely; the food was mediocre. Hopefully, next time, we'll try something else.

One of the waiters is not the nicest but everybody else is super friendly. Everything I have tried has been excellent, even the salad is fresh and very tasty. The only thing I would keep away from is desserts, at least the chocolate mousse is not home made but the waiter was honest about it. Food is traditional Portuguese food, preparation and taste is as authentic as you can get. Portions are very generous and the price is really affordable. One serving usually feeds two people easily, you will be full by the end of the meal, I guarantee it! You can ask for a half serving if you are by yourself. The restaurant is non smoking, it can get pretty crowded, socially if you go on the weekends, but the very tasty food is well worth the wait!
