Great food excellent atmosphere and service was really good. We ate there several times on our vacation.

Food was delicious. We got serving for 4 people but it was enough for 5-6. They give a lot of food.

After wandering around the beach and tired of looking for restaurants, we decided to arbitrarily pick one close, and Maxims did not disappoint. With both outdoor and indoor seating options, we elected for indoor because of the AC. The outdoor scene was crowded and large, but it was less so inside, with a small interior and simple decorations. Our waiter was proficient enough in English to help us with the menu, which itself had an English option too. This was perfect for wandering, completely lost Americans. We ended up ordering family style: deep fried calamari and shrimp, rump steak with rice, and lobster. The calamari and shrimp practically melted in your mouth, but the dipping sauce it came with was very bland. Similarly, while the rump steak was well cooked, the meat could've used more seasoning. I was impressed by the lobster, however. It came with a cheesy purée, which while strange at first, actually worked well with the dish. Furthermore, the meat was cut up for you inside the shell already, leading to easy access. All in all, I was pretty satisfied with the meal. The food was probably average to slightly above, but the service was on point, and the vibe was pretty chill inside. That being said, the entire meal was pricier than what I was expecting. Ordered the picanha with rice, vinagretti, fries and farofa. Everything was cold except for the French fries. Also the picanha had no flavor whatsoever. The waiters are ok but because of the food is a big no no.

Very expensive and the service was slow. Different food tasted the same. Never go there again.

The service was excellent, our servers were incredibly patient, attentive, and friendly. A pleasant surprise was that they spoke English, which made ordering much easier and honestly encouraged us to try more food and drinks. (Our server apologized for their English but our server had a great command of the language) I ordered a caipirinha, the Cozze a Piacere, and the Spaghetti alle Vongole. Everything was delicious. The spaghetti with clams was perfectly portioned and full of flavor. The drinks were strong, beautifully presented, and well made. One small disappointment: my appetizer was listed online as coming with bread, but it didn't. Luckily, someone at the table ordered bread later so I got to enjoy the delicious broth with the musssles. The restaurant itself is tastefully decorated with a warm, inviting ambiance, perfect for special occasions or date night. That said, the biggest downside was the restroom situation. The ladies restroom was clogged and had an unpleasant odor, which detracted from the overall experience. The handicapped restroom, however, was much cleaner. (I took a star away for this reason only) After reading mixed reviews beforehand, I wasn't sure what to expect, but we were treated very well. The staff struck a great balance, attentive without being intrusive and were very accommodating throughout the evening. The bill was also clearly itemized and easy to understand, which is always appreciated for a large group. Tip: Don't hesitate to ask questions, the staff is knowledgeable and happy to help guide your choices.

The cheese and mashed potatoes made the fish so filling I was stuffed. Crawfish carpaccio was different but I wish the it was more thinly sliced it was a bit slimy. I loved the spread they brought out in the beginning. You almost don't need an appetizer it was nice to nibble on and very unique.

They even have a little mini mart attached to the restaurant if you want to take some goodies home with you after your meal. After being seated, I ordered a Brazilian beer and started perusing the large menu. One of the things that annoyed me is that a description isn't given for each entree. So for the ones that aren't obvious, you don't know exactly what's included with the dish. We saw the table sitting next to us eating what looks like a delicious dish so we ordered the same thing. My friend is Brazilian and he speaks Portuguese so he ordered for us. When our food arrived, it was the wrong dish. My friend mentioned this and the waiter seemed annoyed but ultimately brought out the right dish. Despite all of the hiccups, the Brazilian fish, layered between what is similar to a lasagna, was delicious. It doesn't come cheaply though, the entrees here are pretty pricey. While the food was good, the overall experience left some things to be desired.

They ordered for us and we had two of the full orders that we shared between six of us. We were told that that meal is supposed to feed two people. We had two between six of us and everyone was full. We had seafood entrees that had a combination of seafood in them. I was told it was typical Brazilian dishes. The entrees has fish, squid, and shrimp in them. Our server did an amazing job serving us. He plated everything for us and was always checking on us. They even had an English menu. If you are looking for traditional Brazilian dishes this is the place to come.
