I had some tapas, which were all seasoned amazingly. As a main dish I shared a seafood platter, again really tasty and of good quality. Tucked away amongst the samey seafood restaurants on the seafront, this intimate traditional Spanish restaurant serves a comprehensive selection of tapas, washed down with local charm and incredibly friendly service. We were served by David, who was very patient with us trying out our very limited Spanish vocab skills. He was constantly smiling and didn't seem to resent speaking to us in English. We ordered a variety of tapas between 4 of us, including flavoursome anchovies, super-fresh calamari, a local octopus stew and some very brave patatas bravas! We particularly enjoyed the albondigas (scrumptious meatballs) and the capresi salad, ordering two portions of each. The restaurant has been around for years but is currently owned by a young English couple who seem to be bringing something special to the town, besides your typical tacky English-style greasy spoon cafe. I was spoiled for choice with the delicious menu, but decided on the schezhaun tuna for starter, the sea bass with cauliflower purée for main and the chocolate and hazelnut brownie for desert. All were superb as was the wine and the service. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area.
