We are in Moraira out of peak-season and were turned away from a different restaurant earlier…read morebecause they'd not ordered any ingredients... so this charming little restaurant was a real find. Tucked away amongst the samey seafood restaurants on the seafront, this intimate traditional Spanish restaurant serves a comprehensive selection of tapas, washed down with local charm and incredibly friendly service.
We were served by David, who was very patient with us trying out our very limited Spanish vocab skills. He was constantly smiling and didn't seem to resent speaking to us in English.
We ordered a variety of tapas between 4 of us, including flavoursome anchovies, super-fresh calamari, a local octopus stew and some very brave patatas bravas! We particularly enjoyed the albondigas (scrumptious meatballs) and the capresi salad, ordering two portions of each.
A very filling meal for 4 including a bottle of cava and some sparkling water came to €96 without service charge and we were very happy to tip.
We'd go back again, no doubt
