Loved the combination of flavor of perfectly juicy ground beef with green olives - yum! Entrecôte was also my favorite. So tender and juicy. I also tried Hawaiian pizza (it's rectangular by the way), which happened by mistake because of the order mix up. It was fabulous! They order sangria con vino (wine) and sangria com cava (bruit). I really liked the one with the wine. Prices are very reasonable, the food is delicious and the view of the sea is great!

The restaurant is located on a relatively quiet neighborhood street making it a super authentic and nice escape from the busy city. There is a cute outdoor seating area with nice string lights. The inside ambiance is a bit bright making it less intimate which can be nice for a more casual dinner or meal with friends. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the hostess who sat us immediately. Our server was so friendly and helpful with our selection of dishes. I also really liked how you could see the chef preparing the pasta upon ordering. We had the pumpkin orange tortellini and the yellow kulurgiones from ogliastra. Both were delicious and very very fresh. The tortellini was very flavorful with a sweet and savory aspect to it.I found the yellow kulurgiones to be a unique dish with the the mint touch. The menu had a broad selection with lots of different pastas and dishes to chose from. Very tasty and authentic Italian food!

Around 10, every table was taken. All pastas were made fresh. You can truly taste the quality here. Not only was this the best food I had during my visit to this city it was also the best Sangria. Full of fruit and spice. Now, I live in LA and getting this quality of food will easily run you around $20-$25 a dish. I believe our entire meal with wine, Sangria, and a Coke for two people was around €35ish. A steal in my opinion. Please make a stop here. The reviews are genuine and the place really is that good! I ordered the pesto Tagliatelle and my friend ordered the butternut squash ravioli. Both to die for. We also got a shot of limoncello to end the meal, yum.

Pelai, being in the Hotel Catalonia Ramblas, was thankfully open for business. The staff was awesome and took us without a reservation. We had our children with us and luckily they had a kid's menu (pizza, grilled chicken, etc.). House wine (red or white) was included for free with the meal! They really bailed us out. Then came the food, which was really very good. We ended up getting the tasting/chef's menu. The croquettes were amazing, as well as the jamon iberico and grilled octopus. I wasn't expecting much to be honest, but even average hotel food in Spain is 10x better than anything you'd get in the States at half the price. It came out to about 100 Euros. Definitely worth a look.

Owner was super friendly and expressed an interest in going to US to do Route 66 tour one day. He recommended the snails and the Croquettes fried things that you can find at every Spanish place. I am not a huge fan of these but his supposed won some award for being the best. We ordered both based on his suggestion. The snails were fantastic and the croquettes were good too. Portion sizes were good for tapas and he suggested that for 2 people we only order 2 of them. I would have ordered more but glad we stuck with 2 because they were sizable. Both indoor and outdoor seating available. I thought I took a pic of the snails but cant find it. :(
