Beef curry dumplings

Had a lovely experience here. This restaurant is Chinese fusion. Inclusion of Chinese flavors in dishes that you would never think possible. Service was attentive and not rushed. In terms of the food everything we had was spot on in terms of flavors. All of the dishes were equally delicious

General Taos chicken and and order of fried rice

This was the first time on this trip that we had Chinese food. At first I was somewhat hesitant because I didn't see too many items that were GF. However, the waitress pointed out a few items. I didn't expect much since the selections were few for me. What a pleasant surprise when the edamame came out and I couldn't get enough of it. The seasonings on it were sensational. The server told me the chef won't even tell him what's in it and they're good friends. I also order the rice vermicelli shrimp madras curry bowl ~ wow! It was phenomenal tasting. I shouldn't have eaten so much edamame because I was stuffed trying to finish the rest of my meal. My husband had the fried rice and General Taos chicken. His was good but I know he wished he ordered what I had. The atmosphere in this restaurant was quaint while also somewhat elegant. We had a table by the window which was across from the Norte Dame Basilica. I don't think the people who looked at the menu realized just how good the food was at Wong's

This was one of the best Chinese restaurants I've ever eaten at. The food was spectacular and the service was stellar. However, they made one fatal flaw with me. I was standing outside their restaurant at 5:20 when they opened at 5:30 on a Sunday evening. Not a soul in sight. We wanted a table for 3 with a baby. I called and was told there were no tables available all night. But when my French speaking Canadian daughter called back just 5 minutes later without mentioning the baby, suddenly there was space. Either it was the English I spoke or the baby I mentioned that chose them to discriminate against me but it was totally unprofessional and illegal if done in the US...not sure about Canadian discrimination laws, but surely babies and tourists make up a large bit of their revenue so the owners should take note! Mothers and tourists won't eat here if this is the way we will be treated. The food is excellent, so why mess it up with discrimination against English speaking patrons (which are their bread and butter) or mothers with babies (people who really need a night out, but have to take the well behaved, breast fed infant with them)!

So happy to visit Quebec City again for the holidays and our tummies even more happy to dine again at Wong's! We are a Chinese family and Wong's is a must stop for us each time we visit ...the food is excellent and the restaurant makes us feel at home. Chef Steve Wong (Grandson of founder Fred Wong) is great chef and most charming!

In the mood to switch gears away from French Quebec food. Had hot and sour soup with a watery base. The wonton soup was good. Vegetable lo mein was a huge portion which was only fair. The mixed vegetable dish was swimming in sauce. No problem with the fair food and worse service. It was just what we were in the mood for.

A glimpse of the interior or the restaurant, which is a beautiful and quiet place to escape the crowds.

I got the mapo tofu with vegetables and my wife got dumplings. Rice is an extra charge, and we got that too. The mapo tofu was tasty, with a sauce that was more the consistency of broth, not as thick as I am used to. And it was quite spicy. I was disappointed that the restaurant did not have more vegetarian items, but I didn't ask if any of the other dishes could be tailored to vegetarians. The hot and sour soup is vegetarian and delicious. The atmosphere is absolutely serene in a beautiful room with exposed brick walls. The staff was helpful and pleasant. There was no rush to eat and leave.

@Wong Restaurant in downtown Old Quebec, worth a try.

As usual, the need for Asian cuisine is innate in us whenever we travel. I admit, my expectations were low after seeing the all too-familiar fast food menu of General Tao's chicken, Orange- flavored beef and pork fried rice. I do not know why I didn't expect to see those in a French Canadian Chinese restaurant. And yes, we got all three, plus a wonton soup. Their version wasn't as greasy, or as sweet as the ones here in the States. You won't get that bloated feeling, or guilt because the portions were just right. I preferred the hot and sour soup though, when we went back the second time around. We ordered the same exact thing, because we liked them enough, plus a cocktail drink. Our server was funny and entertaining. We've passed by more posh looking Asian fusion restaurants, ...but I'd go back to this one, when we visit Old Quebec again.

While visiting Quebec City, went for friday night dinner with family, surprisingly restaurant was kind of empty. Live music was being played. Surprisingly not run by Asian, food was flavorful and good quality. 5-stars are mainly because we were pleasantly surprised. The server was pretty accommodating in terms of special requests. Definitely recommended if someone looking for Chinese food in Quebec City!!

Restaurant Wong is a small intimate restaurant in Quebec City. The food is good and the service was great. The vegetables were extremely fresh and our food was cooked perfectly. The won ton soup was a bit spicy, yet we enjoyed this new take on an old favorite.

Lot of vegetarian options

After the downtown trip on our way back, my little one was hungry and asked something to eat. It was around 7pm and it was really early for dinner and found only "Wong" was the right place for my picky son to eat. The place was welcoming and we were seating quickly however our waitress was a bit of painful type. As we were going through the menu she was poking her nose to order more food since the portion size was less and to order more entrees.....on....on..... Really irritated and food was served after 45 minutes almost even though the tables were empty..... We got a veggie fried rice with eggs n veggie noodles with Sichuan sauce. Veggie Spring Rolls on the side. The taste of the food was good however the portion sizes was really huge and we had to pack the leftovers. Don't get lost with the convincing staff here, the prices are high n portion sizes are huge! The highlight was the live music played by a beautiful lady who looked like a doll. The charming music was a total winner!

Food was ok. Some good some not. Service was inattentive and slow. Wine prices were stupid expensive for the minuscule pour.

Pleasantly surprised by how delicious the shrimp fried rice, and beef broccoli was, with that smoky wok hay flavor.
