What an amazing meal, with service that makes you feel at home, and all sorts of accommodations and nice touches to make you feel that every need is met. While in Munich on business, we got the royal treatment at Vinaiolo.
Food:
Really lovely food: house-made pasta, fish and vegetable dishes styled in a modern European but still very approachable manner, and a special set menu offering on the chalk board. My favorite was the salmon wrapped in thin sheets of eggplant, and served with lovely sauces. Pasta dishes were amazing, and of course we enjoyed a couple bottles of wine with our meal. A nicely curated list that paired so well with our food. Definitely need to mention that we started the meal with a refreshing Aperol spritz, as it was a very warm evening. Our meal was really wonderful!
Service:
We felt like family at this lovely restaurant. The servers were welcoming, friendly, and really charming. One of my colleagues can't eat gluten (bummer), but never makes a fuss about it. The server sensed this when he asked for a substitution of the pasta course. Not only did they have gluten-free pasta, they also brought out a warm loaf of GF bread - you should have seen the smile on my colleagues face. It was like manna from heaven! Fantastic service.
Vibe:
come-tuo-cugino-fantasia-ti-ha-fatto-un-incredibile-cena-chic. (Like-your-fancy-cousin-made-you-an-incredible-dinner-chic). Vinaiolo is not your Italian grandmother or great-aunt's kitchen, because you only wish those fine ladies could take care of you as well as the staff here can. It's like hanging out at someone's place where they can create wonderful dishes that seem effortless, and they just keep feeding you. Lovely place to have a meal.
Family-friendly:
I am sure it is, and the staff would take care of the children very well. But I think it's too special a place to share with the little ones!
Summary:
5-star food, 5-star service, 5-star experience. Well worth your time and money. You must try Vinaiolo! read more
