Everything about Vejrø is quite the experience - the luxurious showers near the harbor, the free charcoal for a barbecue, the little kiosk that sells øko-bratwurst for said barbecue, the awesome playground for kids, the helipad, the super fast Targa 44 shuttling between island and mainland - the owners have gone out of their way to provide a seamless experience. So for them to offer expertly prepared food comes as no surprise. This is certainly no typical grub, hotdogs and fries are largely absent, save for the moderately priced kids menu. For grown ups expect to spend upwards of 600 kroner for a menu. There is ample wine and fine spirits to accompany. This is a place to show off the nicer clothes you stashed away somewhere on your boat - certainly not an everyday experience for most people, but what a treat in the middle of a summer holiday. Meals cover a wide range of locally hunted pheasants as well as seafood and of course delicious tomatoes grown on the island. Service is friendly and attentive. This is a place to come back to. read more
