I'm a globalist and they weren't able to give me a suite upgrade, but they gave me a bigger room and a $30 food voucher, which was appreciated. I found my room door incredibly hard to open! I actually thought that the key didn't work, but once I leaned all of my body weight into the door, it opened! I would say my room was a little loud outside the mall one of the weekend nights. I discovered on the second day that when housekeeping came in, they were opening the windows (which I didn't like because I had them closed), so maybe that's why it was so noisy and I didn't even realize it was open. I went to the spa and was a little annoyed that I couldn't use my iPad to read because it had a camera. I totally get the rule, but I did not see that anywhere on the website. Had I known, I would've planned ahead and brought something else to read. It is a coed spa and you don't need to wear swimwear in the sauna or steam room. Apparently to one guy that meant he also didn't have to wear a towel! It is a nice pool and hot tub area with nice views and an outdoor terrace. They do allow kids most of the day and it was pretty noisy when the kids were there. The next day I went at nine in the morning and it was very quiet with no kids. While I was there, the elevator to the spa was broken so you had to take the stairs up one floor. That was fine because you can't help it being broken, but I had already done the walk to the specific spa elevator before I saw the sign that it was broken. I think they should've had more signage in each hallway. I did the breakfast buffet every day and it was very nice. Lots of hot and cold options, including champagne! They also have some made to order items like omelettes, other eggs, pancakes, and French toast. Since I was globalist, I also had lounge access. It's open all day, but they have food at breakfast, a couple desserts for afternoon tea, and some appetizers/snacks and beer and wine in the evening. There were some improvement areas, but it's a great hotel as a category 4.

Ein solches Verhalten empfinde ich als völlig unangemessen. Ob, wann und in welcher Höhe ich Trinkgeld gebe, ist allein meine Entscheidung. Trinkgeld sollte freiwillig sein und nicht in bestimmter Höhe erwartet oder eingefordert werden. Besonders irritierend war für mich, dass mir der Eindruck vermittelt wurde, ich müsse die Räumlichkeiten verlassen, falls ich dieses erwartete Trinkgeld nicht in voller Höhe gebe. Auf meine Nachfrage bekam ich dazu keine klare und verständliche Erklärung. Darüber hinaus hatte ich im Gespräch das Gefühl, dass ich im schlimmsten Fall sogar vom weiteren Besuch ausgeschlossen werden könnte, wenn ich dieses erwartete Trinkgeld nicht in der geforderten Höhe gebe. So eine Situation habe ich in keinem anderen Casino erlebt. Natürlich kann man bei gutem Service Trinkgeld geben, aber nach vielen verlorenen Einsätzen dann bei einem einzelnen Treffer praktisch den kompletten Betrag als Trinkgeld abgeben zu sollen, halte ich für absolut unangebracht. Für mich war dieses Verhalten weder kundenfreundlich noch professionell. Dieser Besuch hat einen sehr negativen Eindruck hinterlassen, und ich werde diese Erfahrung in meinem Umfeld sachlich weitergeben. Ich hoffe sehr, dass es sich dabei um einen Einzelfall handelte.

There is also a subway/underground stop right outside the hotel - very convenient. The lobby is an open concept but fairly small. It opens right up to the main restaurant where breakfast is served. It's welcoming but simple so you don't feel overwhelmed trying to find things (front desk, elevators, etc). We stayed in a standard king room which was very spacious for a hotel located downtown. The decor is warm and the room was very clean. If we make it to Berlin again, we will definitely stay here again.

There was plenty of space to move around, with comfortable beds, ample storage, and well-designed layouts that made the room feel both modern and inviting. The bathrooms were clean, generously sized, and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Service throughout the hotel was generally good, with staff who were welcoming and helpful. A few areas could be a bit more polished, but nothing that took away from the overall positive experience. Overall, Hilton Berlin offers spacious rooms, an excellent buffet, and a convenient location making it a solid and enjoyable stay.
