The owners used to have a place on the Pilgramgasse near where I live but about a year and a half ago they relocated to the Naschmarkt ... .with tasty results. The Pelmeni here are simply awesome - no matter what filling(s) you choose. With sour cream and some hot sauce, these small dumplings melt in your mouth. And of course they have Pirozhki ... in several varieties. And if you like Uzbekistani food as I do, they have the tastiest Manti in Vienna. I wish they carried even more Uzbek food since Vienna's main Uzbek restaurant closed a year ago unfortunately due to a lack of business. (When I'm in Philadelphia I'm lucky to have several Uzbek restaurants to choose from so all is not lost.) But my favorite dish to take out (or eat right there) from Zarewna's are the Pelmeni. They take about 15 minutes to prepare so it also gives you time to chat with the owners ..... whom I find to be always friendly. Priyatnogo appetita!!

It was absolutely delicious - savory in the best possible way and full of flavor. I loved the yogurt dipping sauce (you could also have sour cream too). The best part - my treat filled me right up for less than EUR $3.

Like Demel, Cafe Central is a MUST visit when you go to Vienna, where the coffee houses are a sight to behold on their own. Yes, the wait is quite long. Every time I pass by, there's a line, but it actually goes rather quickly and if you can find something to do to pass the time, it's like nothing at all. First off, the interior is STRIKING, a work of art in its own right with marble columns, stylish looking cafe tables, and paintings every where you go. Apparently Sigmund Freud has been a frequent patron here. Even if you were to get nothing at all, just the experience of sitting here is worth your eyes absorbing. But, oh!--the cakes--and the coffees! I had me an iced coffee that had a great body mixed with a delicate flavor to give me a jolt through the day. The hazelnut cake was airy and fluffy, not at all too sweet like American desserts have a tendency to be! The staff here move efficiently, and I love how there's no pressure to hurry up and pay your bill or make your order. A repeat place to be sure if I were to go back to Vienna. My twin and I went on Sept '25 for our vacation.

We were seated at a table by the window, and served by a nice older waiter who spoke excellent English. We made the mistake of asking for water and ended up paying for expensive bottled water. We ordered a smoked salmon salad, sausages wrapped in bacon and served with fries, gnocchi in pesto, and tartufo. The salad had plenty of salmon, but not much else in the way of dressing, which was a bit disappointing since the rest of it was just lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers. The sausage plate came with one sausage wrapped in bacon and one sausage more like a polish sausage, and plenty of fries. The sausages were good, but a bit too heavy for lunch. I'm not sure how the gnocchi was since my sister pretty much devoured it. We all enjoyed the tartufo, though that may have just been because it was chocolate and we were stressed. The bill was a bit much for what was adequate but not particularly outstanding food. Ambiance was pleasant but bland in a sort of hotel-restaurant style. Two-ish stars, with maybe an extra half-star for the nice waiter.

Though there are many other nearby places to dine, Zum Leupold, with pleasant al fresco seating that flanks the sidewalks, was impossible to miss. Though many of the tables are outfitted with "reserved" signs and you'll be asked if you have reservations, I dined here twice with no advance reservations, landing an outdoor table on both occasions. Was it a place that's worth dining twice at though? That's the question. Here at Zum Leupold I think one should stick to foods that are traditional to the area and not stray from that regardless of the what's on the menu. Goulash and goulash soup were perfect representations; roast beef far less so. I grew partial to the fried Emmentaler cheese dish that's served with berry jam because, well, fried cheese. I'm uncertain of the origins of this dish but harbor a belief that fried cheese is never a bad thing;in fact, it's quite delicious. Pleasant and tasty if you keep things fairly basic, this full service restaurant proved quite satisfying on both visits.

They had live music going, which added such a nice vibe, and the ceiling décor alone is worth a moment of appreciation--seriously so pretty. The ambience? On point. Service? Super friendly. People? Definitely recommend stopping by if you're visiting Vienna and want spectacular views paired with great drinks and a relaxed, elevated vibe.

It offered panoramic views of the city, and the view was even more stunning during sunset. I had the chocolate brownie, which was more like a fancy chocolate cake -- very rich and decadent. For drinks, I tried the Noelle (Dewar's 12Y infused with tonka beans, cacao white, gingerbread, orange, and lemon, topped with honey espuma/foam) -- it was like sipping a yummy dessert. Tonka beans are not available in the U.S., so I had to try this drink. The Triple Berry (sparkling water with strawberry, wild berry, raspberry, passion fruit, and vanilla) was also refreshing for summertime. I only came here for dessert and drinks, but others have came for breakfast and dinner and enjoyed the food as well. A restaurant with amazing views and good food and drinks? That's a triple threat!
