With the negativity out of the way, they offer a vast menu with a lot of choices to choose from. From salmon to yellow-tail tuna, they got you covered. Their sushi is great, and their fishes were yummy. Even though I gave this a three stars, it doesn't mean that I'm a detractor. I would definitely come back when I am in the north-shore and craving Japanese/Asian fusion cuisine.

Surprised to find they don't serve alcohol but luckily had some with us. After waiting a few more minutes we decided they didn't value our business and left a $5 dollars on the table and walked out. Stopped by St. Hubert's and was served within 10 minutes. I would not recommend this place if you want to eat!

Walking distance from my Dad's house and we have been going there for years. I guess my only complaint would be that they *only* have sushi on their menu - but none of the usual teriyaki, etc, dishes often served at sushi restaurants - so most of my family and friends would find it too limited. I've seen other reviews saying the same... they are crazy busy with takeout, but their dining room is always empty. So this would be a *great* spot to go if you are looking for a last minute dinner place without a reservation. The 17-piece combo is a great deal and has all my favorites. The spicy salmon maki is excellent!

What beautiful restaurant! The decor is to die for!…read more But the service and food are ok. Actually the service was extremely long and as far as the food goes, 3 of my friends and I found that it eatable yet some dimensions missing in the mix of ingredients. I personally had a Pad Thai and described it as boring...the sauce that generally enhances the combination of shrimps, noodles and all involved was just flat. It as if they had left two colors in the spectrum of the rainbow. But absolutely worth seeing!

As you walk up to the front door there is a huge statue of a horse raise up on its hind legs. That's just the beginning. The Decour and ambience were amazing, and I loved all the detail. We were greeted and seated my friendly staff and promptly attended to by our server. I ordered the ginger shrimp plate which is served with mixed vegetables and some rice. The presentation was absolutely beautiful. The flavor was fresh and a delight. The vegetables and everything were cooked to perfection. There is nothing I would've changed. Some people complained in their reviews about slow service. They must have come on a bad day. Our server was always prompt, courteous, engaging and professional. Or food was delivered hot and promptly. Everyone at my table enjoyed their entrée. I wish we had such a wonderful restaurant in my hometown. I did not notice background music, and did not miss it. I was accompanied by great friends and we enjoyed the conversation without any distractions. I did not take pictures or bother to look at the restaurant up on Yelp while I was there because I wanted to give my attention fully to my hosts. However there is much that is photo worthy at this beautiful restaurant, and the food I had was amazing. A truly delightful place perfect for a date night with your wife or for gathering with family or friends. Everything I saw was spotless and clean, immaculately decorated, the food and service top notch. I would definitely return anytime I had the chance.

My GPS (Garmin) took us a bit too far north on the highway, by at least a few km. When we eventually arrived there, the parking lot was full of high-end cars. When we entered the place (schlepping in wearing shorts and flip-flops) we ended us in a room full of men wearing suites and women wearing high heels and plenty of makeup. Obviously, the sushi experience in this corner of the world is much less casual than where we come from. We didn't have a reservation and the only tables available were outside on the porch. The sun was getting down and as we were about to have dinner, so were the moskitos. We took the porch table anyway. There was not a single oriental face, neither in the front or the house nor in the back (a staple feature of any sushi place in GTA). The menu didn't have a single items that would look or sound familiar. After a bit of a consultation with the waiter, we ordered some rolls. The prices were on the high side. I would say, 60% to 70% higher that what we are used to pay, just outside of a major metropolitan area. The portions were small. However, the food tasted GREAT. Now, I realize that what we typically call "sushi" is not necessarily something uber-authentic. The food here was even further away from its Asian roots, so far, in fact, that I would hesitate to call it "sushi". That aside, it was absolutely delish. Overall, this visit was a positive experience. We got introduced to a very different take on a type of food we thought we knew everything about. The people here don't just come to this place to stuff their stomachs with food. They sit down for a long and enjoyable evening of food and conversation over a bottle of wine. Suki caters to this type of clientele very well.

I thought to myself is this some serious chef? or is he just posing? Hahaha. I won't answer that question but I'm pretty sure you can guess after you read my review... Let me just say, The sushi menu is just insane!!! there are something like 190 varieties of sushi, sashimi, maki and whatnot... seriously it's just plain confusing . I feel like a lot of the ingredients are repeated, and frankly it takes me too long to choose... We had a few maki rolls, one with eel, one with tuna and crab stick, one with salmon, some veggie tempura, fish grilled with miso sauce, and octopus salad. The octopus salad looked nice but the dressing was lacking, and too much green and not so much meat. The fish was well cooked and flaky, but the miso was a bit salty. It was served with rice, cucumbers, greens, and more salty miso sauce on the side... The sushi rolls were decent, back in the day, spicy mayo was a nice touch but nowadays it's everywhere and used in too many rolls. The eel roll had see weed in it, which was different, except I'm not sure I liked it. All in all, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either... One mistake I made was not ordering the items on the menu that was marked specialty, maybe that would have been different, maybe next time... The menu is so extensive, I'm going to have to come back before I can make up my mind about this place. Some of the stuff looked interesting to try, but sometimes the description looks better than the thing itself, we'll see.

I was impressed that Itamea delivered downtown. I mean, some dt adjacent neighbourhoods don't even deliver to us and this restaurant is all the way in Beaubien! Kudos to them. While it's well-rated on Yelp, Facebook and Google reviews are terrible. Angry reviewers mostly complained about the service and long delivery time, so I was mentally ready to wait at least 2 hours. I was pleasantly surprised when the delivery arrived after only one hour (which is actually not fast, I know). I was really satisfied with my order. I tried the spicy salmon, the spicy scallop, Volcano, Golden Gate and Special Itamea makis. There were generous amounts of fish and avocado- most sushi restaurants will try to cheap out by loading up on tempura, but not here. Only complaint was that one of the quail eggs on my Rising Sun nigiri broke during delivery. They should put the quail eggs separately in a small plastic container to avoid this problem. Overall though, for delivery on a Sunday night, it really hit the spot.
