We were in Zurich for three nights on vacation and we wound up eating at Fork & Bottle two of those…read morenights - it was that good! We happened upon it just by looking up restaurants close to our hotel and it wound up being our favorite place we ate in our whole 10 days in Switzerland! The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming. When you walk up, there are tables and chairs throughout the walkway and then an entire open area of tables off of the outside bar for a fun hangout. The building appears to be an old house turned restaurant and is so beautiful on the outside and so warm and inviting on the inside. The menu had accommodations for everyone - which is so nice as I am a lactose intolerant pescatarian! I got the beetroot and black bean burger both nights I was there and it was to die for!! I ate the entire thing both nights and just wanted more (it was a big burger though)!! I also had a watermelon spritz which was so refreshing! You can tell the owners/workers get to know their regulars as I saw them stopping by tables and chatting - which was just so fun to see! If you're in Zurich, I highly recommend popping by! My only regret was that I never saved room for the brownie dessert!

Service: Let's not forget the people are pretty and the food are pretty decent. Starting with service, you know that can go wrong very easily in Zurich. In here, it is so smooth and uncomplicated because you need to go up and order your drinks and food at the counter. You get a number assigned to you and your party, so that your bill is allocated to that number, which makes ordering pretty easy because every time you reorder you just need to bring the plastic card with your number or just remember it so they can bill it to your number. At the end of your meal when you pay they will just ring up your check based on the number you have. Food: The food is not too shabby here. They have various burgers, from beef, fish, chicken to veggie and all are pretty good on a nicely toasted burger bun. Once I skipped the meal (eating is cheating) and had a nice order of fries. Location/Ambiance: it is very close to the University of Zurich but the prices are higher than average beer bc you are getting craft beer on TAP. So it's not filled with students, it's a mixed crowd. However you will still find one or two groups of students that come here and take advantage of the awesome board games they offer here over a nice glass of craft beer. Covid: During Covid times the tables are not that close together and they do not encourage you to hang around the bar area. Still I felt safe to dine here during Covid times.

Many of the prices are pretty steep, but, I really enjoy the ambiance and the food, and the beer! Last time I came they had an Ethiopian pop-up, or whatever you call it. They were serving Ethiopian food for a limited amount of time. I ordered the veggie platter with different curries and it was really delicious, and so pretty too! I always have a great time here. Although, indoor seating is available, I much prefer sitting outside on the sidewalk. The menu has lots of options but the cooking styles are primarily grilled or cordon bleu. Definitely sticking to what they do well. Friendly service and patient with those who aren't native speakers, I haven't ordered wrong yet.
