I ordered the tuna tataki and the surf and turf, and everything came out great. They have a small conveyor belt sushi on one end of the restaurant and a teppanyaki table on the other. The setup is really nice - sit at the teppanyaki if there are seats available and watch your food being cooked. The portions are generous. The tuna was seared nicely and the sauce was delicious. The surf and turf came with shrimp which had an amazing butter sauce. And the filet was perfectly cooked to medium raw - so tender. Presentation of the food was also nicely done.

We were lucky to find HATTORI SUSHI AND STEAKHOUSE right next to our hotel(Radisson BLU Hotel). We were greeted by the owner Nick who made us feel very welcome. The decor of the restaurant had an Asian flair and an ambience that was very comfortable. The restaurant had a moving sushi bar with an array of choices and Teppanyaki U shape counter. Hattori opened 5 Months ago. To start we had the Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura and Ahi Tuna Tataki with a Kirin Premium beer. The Tempura was light and crispy with a flavorful dipping sauce. The Tuna Tataki was seared to perfection with the right amount of seasoning and topped with daikon/sauce. The Steak was done medium rare with a variety of sautéed mushrooms including shiitake. It was plated with a nice delicate sauce with cubed gelatin flavored with shiitake mushroom dashi, mirin, shoyu and sake. Chef Alek served us his soft and tasty Homemade bread with a marinated broccoli spread. Executive Chef Alek's creations are so tasty. We ended the dinner with shot of Yamasaki Whiskey which won a world title as best in class and Sweet Umeshu. It was an excellent meal and we felt at home with the friendly staff and owner. We highly recommend Hattori Sushi/Steakhouse and hope you all will check it out. Your taste buds will be treated to an awesome epicurean experience!

Sure, that's great for the business, but for the customer, that means less attention and a lot of hurrying. Even with a reservation, we were told to be out within 90 minutes. What?! I just got here and you're talking about kicking me out? Not a great way to start... At the table, we literally had 3 minutes to look over the menu before the waiter/host interrupted and told us to go for their set menu (routine of salmon and tuna), which will surely make us "full". What?! I'm not here to stuff myself, if nothing else, at least have some respect for your own food. To buy us a bit more time, I order tea and ask the guy to give us five more minutes. Immediately, he storms off to another table... Luckily, an older lady with more sense of customer service comes to serve us after bringing our drinks. When ordering, to my surprise, neither toro or hamachi were available, despite being displayed on the tabletop menu. We end up going with a few other nigiri and two rolls. The nigiri is nothing special. The fish did not taste fresh or flavorful and there was absolutely no interaction between the rice and the fish. The rolls were surprisingly large. Perhaps due to the overuse of sauces, but again, the fish flavour does not come through. Very very disappointing for a place that seems authentic and masterful in its craft. Final word: I probably should have taken the young host's initial advice and filled ourselves up with the simplest rolls they know how to make. This is definitely not a sushi restaurant, it's a buffet.

The soy sauce dishes have flecks of gold. There is even a tatami room with the sunken floor. Star #4: Great view of the Swiss countryside. We saw lots of cute cows, sheep, and horses while driving up. Star #5: Really yummy and fresh sushi and sashimi. Unbelievable to find such authentic Japanese food in the middle of Switzerland. Bonus star: Really soothing music in the background, with all my instrumental favorites--Sound of Music tunes, Scarborough Fair, etc. (Yes, I know it's cheesy, but it was the perfect complement to soothe my full belly...) I can confirm that this place definitely deserves its Michelin star. I'm glad that I found a Groupon to enjoy this exquisite meal at 50% off. Only CHF 60 for dinner for 2. :)

The Buffet for 39.80 CHF- Don't even think about it. In my opinion and the way I perceived it, it was pretty much a couple random dishes that looked like it was left overs from a party. Looked random and not appetizing looking at all. All on plates wrapper with saran wrap. Refer to my pic. 2. The Lunch Menu "Nodate" 45 CHF- This is a bento lunch which was okay. Just okay. The tuna roll was a shock and disappointing as it was cooked tuna. In my opinion, the tuna looked and tasted like it was from canned, refer to my picture. This might not be a fact, but doesn't change that it was indeed Disappointing. The tempura was not crispy fresh...it was a bit soft like it was sitting out for a 1/2 hour...which means it wasn't warm either. The beef was so so, but covered with a super thick teriyaki sauce- if this sauce was home made, in my opinion a lot of sugar might have went in the ingredients because it was super thick- that or corn starch? The sashimi was good, even though it was tiny little pieces. The waitress didn't communicate well. We were looking for some clarity on what the Nodate included and she pointed to the detailed menu and said "All of this below". It wasn't all of the below so our expectations were disappointed when we asked if the dessert was coming. She wasn't clear and she just pointed to the menu waiving her finger around. The presentation was really cute and I enjoyed that. The dishes came out of a Japanese Lunch Carrier thing. But that's about it. If you come here, avoid this restaurant and go to the other restaurant they have, but it's super pricey.

I came here based on a recommendation of a colleague, the service was extremely friendly and swift so no complaints on that part. We started with a bottle of sake and had several dishes, the sashimi was fresh and cheap (to Swiss standards): the tuna on it wasn't very special but I have not seen many sashimi platters which had fresh raw shrimp in Switzerland so kudos to that. Overall the food was of good quality and we were statisfied eating the recommended 3 dishes per person. However, my friend wanted a dessert so I choose a the tofu donut. Initially we were considering splitting since I don't really have a sweet tooth but decided against it since my friend wanted one for herself. Best decision ever. This was the best dessert I've eaten in a very very long time. I know that tofu doesn't sound appealing to most people but this is the most delicious creamy ice cream combined with a scrumptious fritter. My mouth waters just thinking about it. They should rename this place to AMAZING JAPANESE DONUTS and I am sure it would have a line in front of the door. I will be back just for the donut. Recommended!

Dear restaurant owner, consider CLOSING your restaurant if you don't have the food on your menu…read moreavailable. Today is Saturday, I've come for lunch, drawn here by the positive reviews and the creative sushi rolls. Upon reviewing the menu I found all the rolls I wanted to order. Unfortunately the menu in the restaurant says that the specialty rolls can only be ordered at night and not during the day, why? I asked for an exception was told no, despite the fact that the only order the chef was working on would be mine. Second, I decided to choose something from the 'nouveauties' menu, then was told that the items were unavailable. Leaving only the standard sushi choices that every other damn sushi restaurant in France sells. I've decided to take the cheapest item on the menu as I'm hungry and need energy. Thank you Yonako for a truly forgettable experience. #FAIL

We took the "samurai" boat for two, which includes sushi, maki, sashimi, and 4 skewers! As well as a miso soup and cabbage salad as the entree, and the customary bowl of rice. Their fish was very fresh and tasted amazing. Especially their dorade and great scallop sashimis. Except for the cheese one, which was somewhat mediocre, the skewers were all very tasteful and juicy. The miso soup and cabbage salad weren't anything extraordinary, but I enjoyed them nonetheless. We took three desserts, and I especially recommend their "coco pearls". It's two little balls of egg yolk stuffed glutinous rice paste covered in coconut. It's one of their (if not the) cheapest dessert on their menu, but still blows their more expensive desserts out of the water. The place itself is quiet, and although not high class, it has a nice atmosphere to it. All in all, it's very high quality for a very fair price.
