We stayed in a nearby village for a few days and found this place. Reserved a table and had dinner here on a weekday. Naturally it wasn't very busy, but still a bunch of other tables. Our dog was welcome as well.
It's a very nice and stylish setting and feels welcoming. The cuisine is very innovative and has some very interesting and unusual items on the menu.
We had the langue de boeuf (beef tongue) and the chair de torteau. Both tasty starters and good to share. Tongue can be done very well and done badly. This one here with the asian touch was a very good one.
For the mains we chose the peche de jour (fish of the day) and the picanha angus. The fish dish was fine, but I would say less innovative compared to the other dishes and was possibly the weakest part of the meal. The Picanha on the other hand was excellent. It's quite a trendy cut of beef and I've never had it before. Enjoyed it very much. With our mains we had the legumes (veggies) and the caviar d'aubergine. For our likings the veggie dishes were a bit too much salted. We are used to eat with little salt only, maybe it was us and not the dish.
With the food we had a bottle of Campuget Viognier. A fantastic wine and surely one I'll try find back home.
Staff here was really excellent. Took care of us very well and made us feel welcome and at home. read more
