Even very slightly traveled Dutch people know the great MARIO in Utrecht. From the outside this…read moreappeared to be a closely related franchise. So I went in with my friend because we suddenly got the craving for one of those good ol' MARIO sandwiches...
When we got our sandwiches we found out that the bread was not exactly fresh, it was puffy, and tasteless. The salami was not really salami, but a weird cheap rolled meat paste substitute. Instead of cheese there was some awful white tasteless sheets of something so tasteless I couldn't believe it. There was no corizo, and even the pepperoni tasted funny.
This was the second worst eating experience of my life, I was genuinely fearing for my health.
Not wanting any trouble, and not even knowing where to begin, I went to pay 9,- Euros for two sandwiches. The cook, dressed in slippers, looked over my shoulder at our plates and asked me "Little too much?"... I tried holding in my hysterical laugh, and yelled "hhYES!"
I would recommend you sample the food here quickly before this place goes under. Just so you can experience the most tasteless and awful food in the universe. This guy took the worst ingredients he could find god knows where, that still resembled the original ingredients, and slapped them together in the wrong order. It's an astounding experience to taste what a total lack of craftsmanship and talent can do to food. Our stomachs were upset for three hours having taken only three bites.
I'm going to ask the owners of MARIO if they know about this, and then recommend they either they sue him or take away his franchising rights for attempting this atrocious reproduction of MARIO, which only serves to give them a horrendously bad reputation.
(One star feels like way too much)
