Two visits to this restaurant give two different verdicts - which is unhelpful to the traveller, except that it says you take a bit of a chance. Both visits were for lunch, so evening meals may be quite different.
The first time, the main course included a venison stew - unexpected at this price point (13EUR set menu).
Second time, starter was a salmon terrine with chive sauce, accompanied by rocket with a salad dressing that was a bit too sharp. Main course was onglet (skirt in English) served with a rice confection which I felt was out of a freezer bag. Worse, the meat was chewy, and also lukewarm, and served (to my utter disgust, as I have a thing about this) on cold plates. Dessert was just rather flat: three half mirabelles and two small plums, stoned, served on some kind of cold milk pudding.
Disappointing, but I give two stars on the strength of the earlier, much better and more sophisticated meal. read more
