Perhaps you've had a long day of hiking or biking around the trails and need a rest? You can rest well here. The dining room feels homey; like you're having dinner at a friend's house. If it's not too windy, have a seat on the patio, taste some local wines (they're better than you think!). If wine isn't your thing, drink in the sweeping views of Lake Zürich (Zürichsee), listen to the sheep call to each other and breathe the clear, crisp Apline air. Or do all of it! The menu is decidedly Swiss. Which is why you're here, right? The staff is very friendly and helpful - and can translate the menu if your Deutsch ist schlecht. The menu is a little confusing with lots of options, but the staff can talk you through and explain what's what. I opted for a salad to start, then for my main I chose a schnitzel mit pilz and nudlen. The portions are large and the prices are fair. If you find yourself in the area, you won't have a whole heap of choices nearby (center of Männedorf, or Stäffa have more options). But don't worry, here in the hills you can get a satisfying meal, at a good price and with a big smile.

three stars for an amazing view and walkable trails out the door. two stars for clean albeit very…read moresmall room, one star for a very narrow and uncomfortable bed. two stars for quite good food and waitstaff when the restaurant is actually open. however, the restaurant is now closed to the public on the weekends so getting back to the hotel after a long day of working means no food. the hotel is now focusing on income from hosting corporate events, so you may find yourself with a noisy crowd outside drinking on the patio until 1 am during the week, and no services on the weekend. in four visits this year, the front desk staff constantly made mistakes in booking rooms, room not available upon checkin, even after I paid for an extra day so I could check in when I arrived from the US at 8am. the front desk staff is unavailable and very confused. overall the hotel on the weekend seems like a ghost town. a guest trying to check in on sunday night found the hotel doors locked, lights off, and walked around the property in tears trying to contact someone. she ended up knocking on my ground floor glass window to ask for help. i used to stay here every time I worked in zurich, I will never stay again.
