They were doing a meet and greet type of get together, so showed up a little earlier than us to grab some tables. The hubby and I had a dinner rez that night, so we had a drink before heading out. I had a beer. Someone had what I think was a spritz. Another friend grabbed a pretzel. This spot is really big. Fun vibe. Tho during that time, the world cup was happening and they made a choice not to show it. I get it, but it would have been cool to watch a game here. Fun place to grab a beer, sit outside, and catch up with friends. REVIEW #4092

Overall, an iconic spot with a huge space to gather with friends. Dog and kid-friendly. Real glassware which I appreciate with a 2 euro deposit (incentive) to return when you're done. I'm glad we went here! I had the rosé and can confirm: it's delicious!

This is one of several biergartens (beer gardens) that I visited. But this one I made a return. The…read moreatmosphere was very warm and laid-back. It's not your traditional beer garden. There are traditional tables and benches to sit to drink and eat. But there are also seating with Adirondack chairs, couches, the corner areas gave more intimate settings for small groups and couples, and the double decker bus was a treat to hang out in. They have a modest beer selection both draft and bottle. If you're not in the mood for beer, they have wine and some specialty (spirits) drinks. Don't plan on ordering a pretzel. They call the menu street food and I enjoyed their selection. I would recommend ordering several dishes and sharing. Don't expect a Michelin star experience. When you're ready to order drinks and food, you'll need to go to the counter. The staff is what you expect, laid-back and friendly. That's why you're here. Bring euros because it's cash only. I highly recommend Republik Berlin so that you can compare it to other beer garden experiences.

Prices for beer are cheap and they have a nice food menu outside of the bbq options but I didn't try anything as I was heading to lunch after. The personnel were nice and spoke English fluently. I didn't feel like I was judged at all for not speaking German. The vibes even on a rainy day were nice and most of the tables were filled. I can only imagine how wonderful this place would have been had it been sunny!

There's nothing more German than a brewery in a former train station. Bayerischer Bahnhof Gasthaus…read morehas both an atmospheric indoor dining room and an outdoor beer garden. To go along with our beers, we started with two warm, soft, chewy pretzels with obatzda, as well as the Fränkischer Brotzeitteller, a mixed board with Leberkäse, Haxensülze, Kalbfleischpflanzerl (veal meatballs), Pfefferbeißer (raw pork sausage), Rindermett (beef tartare), Bergkäse, pickles, tomato, egg, butter, horseradish, and dark-colored slices of potato bread. For our mains, the Salatschüssel was a mixed salad of greens, red onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, radishes, potatoes, green beans, egg, and a honey mustard dressing, topped with a grilled salmon fillet. Finally, the star dish was the Knusprige Schweinehaxe, a huge, whole, crispy pork knuckle served with two chewy Kartoffelklöße (potato dumplings) and Weißkrautsalat (white cabbage salad). All in all, this was a hearty, delicious meal that came with super friendly service in an atmospheric setting. A great place for a local experience!
