The menu is from the same chefs as the Michelin star brother resto also but they do things as snacks, sweets and light eats. You can also get a picnic basket and bring it over to nearby Bellevue Beach and enjoy nature. We had reservations at Den Røde Cottage but were early from the train so we decided to sit on the outside patio and enjoy some drinks here before heading off to dinner. Our server Christian was super nice and recommended a rhubarb and citrus soda made locally in Denmark. He even called over to the other restaurant to let them know we were coming and then sent one of the cooks to make sure we didnt get lost in the trees. Now that's crazy good hospitality. Even without it I can imagine a full meal on the patio on a somewhat warm day overlooking the water during sunset as a great way to spend a lazy day in Klampenborg

We ordered oysters, beef tartare, lobster ravioli, raw scallop, artichoke. The waiter forgot about the oysters, we shared the rest of the food. The interior is very nice and beautifully decorated with tons of pictures on the wall and a packed bar. It's split into rooms and is very cosy and romantic. The menu is very Danish with lots of Smørebrød. We decided to order a combo to share for lunch. It came with fried fish, roasted pork and cheese to put on top of nice dense bread. The toppings were also on the side like a Remoulade, Pickled cucumber and braised cabbage. It was delicious and I really enjoyed it. They have their own craft beer here and you can ask for it. They also have a Christmas special Beer from a local brewery which was very nice. The Christmas auavit was also lovely. I would happily come here again. It's great food, friendly service and decent portions. A gem of a place in Copenhagen for a delicious Smørebrød.

The hostess responded "It doesn't matter because we are completely booked. I don't have a table for you." I looked around and the restaurant was completely empty. Not a single patron. I thanked her and left. My husband and I spent quite awhile on the sidewalk nearby researching other restaurants and during that time no one entered the restaurant. The place was still completely empty when we walked away quite a while later. The hostess was standing out front and deliberately avoided eye contact with me. While we were walking to another restaurant we saw some graffiti around the corner that said "Tourist go home." Loud and clear, Copenhagen. Loud and clear.

Clearly I had to move it to the top of my To Eat list and get that one checked off, pronto. So, now that I have sufficiently covered the Kødbyen food territory, I feel qualified to say Nose2Tail is my new favorite. The concept is brilliant (they use free-range grass-fed everything, and don't waste a single organ - clearly I'm a fan), the food is absolutely divine, the selection of wines is fantastic, and the ambiance is extremely hyggelig. I came here on a "date" with one of my closest friends from NY and we both could not shut up about how great the food was, from start to finish. The only drawback is that my jacket smelled like meat fat for about a week afterward. If you come here in winter, do not be tempted to hang yours by the bar where all the convenient hooks are. The entrance to the kitchen is right next to that wall, and trust me, you will regret it (even my perfume wasn't strong enough to destroy the stench). Perfect venue for groups up to 6-8 (they may be able to accommodate more), a date, or girls night out. And as the saying goes: Eat more bacon, have more sex.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect - would the food look weird? Would it taste odd? We dove into ordering - the Bacon with BBQ sauce was addictive, as were the pork cracklings. We ended with a mousse for dessert. I should also mention that they have an extensive gin and tonics menu that is not to be overlooked. The service was also wonderful - definitely give this place a try if you find yourself in Copenhagen!
