Pasta w: lobster ... see next picture
Vicky D.

Really good food. The ambiance was old school but clean and warm. We didn't have a reservation but they had space so took us. The service was kind and friendly. Of course like all things in Switzerland it was pricey. Total for dinner including water, beer and a glass of wine $170. We got the truffle potatoe soup, truffle risotto, and lobster pasta. Considering what we ordered I think it was fair. I would go back!

Kindli Our team of nine persons was staying in Zurich for business meetings. We had the great luck of getting a reservation at Kindli. The restaurant is located about 10 minutes walk south of the main train station. The restaurant atmosphere is very warm and inviting. The restaurant is quite popular as every table was full by 7.00pm. The wine selection is excellent. With our appetizers, we tried a number of different white wines. They were all very nice. For our main courses most of our team selected from the winter seasonal menu. This menu included pasta and risotto dishes that were topped with winter truffles. Clearly they were a hit. Our other team members selected an assortment of different meat dishes. Everyone enjoyed their selection. The quality and service in the restaurant is excellent. Kindli should be on your Zurich restaurant list for a great dining experience. Reservations are highly recommended. The restaurant is closed on Sunday.

Venison entrecote

So, this place wasn't even on my radar when a friend came to town and suggested we go there. The menu was expensive (but in line with Zurich prices) but the seasonal menu really caught my eye. The service was great (not something I've found to be common in Zurich) and the food was fantastic. The risotto with autumn truffles was immediately devoured and the venison entrecote was perfectly cooked and paired well with the sauce. All in all, expect an expensive meal, but not THAT much more than any other restaurant in Zurich, and well worth it.

This restaurant is new to the 2013 Gault Millau Guide and entered this year with 14 well deserved points (personally, I think they deserve more points) If they continue at this level, I believe that they are on course for a well deserved Michelin star. The wine pairing done by Christian was delightful including a fantastic Swiss white merlot. Victor Cordes, the manager, has done a superb job putting this team together to deliver superb food, incredible wines in a traditional Swiss ambiance and very friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend 20/20 - hope to see you there sometime. btw. downstairs is the famous Mövenpick Winebar - a great place to mingle, chat and hang after work.... also managed by Victor and his team.

Our experience dining at Bu's was disappointing, but not because of the food…read more.. To begin with, they were out of both the wine and the special mushroom dish we had picked from looking at the menu before being seated. The food and wine it turned out we could order was very good, but the experience started with a disappointment. We had chosen to be seated on their beautiful patio, and a woman at the next table immediately marred that experience; she lit a fresh cigarette between each course. The coup-de-grace came when a man on the the patio was given permission to light up a cigar, without any consideration for other guests preferences. It's sad that our al fresco dining experience was ruined by 2nd hand smoke...

Be prepared to drop some money here - but it is well worth it, with excellent food, presentation and service (wow!!!). This place deserves a 4.5 stars, but Yelp doesn't do half stars... and who knows, maybe I'll be persuaded to make an upgrade to 5 when I come back next time. To be continued. I came with a party of four so I tried out everyone else's dishes for a real all around review of this place. For beef lovers, try the beef tar tar which was nicely seasoned and presented - but if raw beef is not your liking, a must try is the Osso Bucco - which was extremely tasty with a nice sauce, even better than the one I had at Bindella a few nights later. They swear (and so does everyone else) on their Cordon Bleu, a nice pick for those who are into eating chicken/pork. For fans of Charlotte's Web, skip this porker and get the Osso Bucco. Those into local Swiss specialties and eat liver, it is a special item here so grab it when it is available. Don't despair if you are a vegetarian, they make a well presented artichoke with vegetables soup (served in a clear glass cup), and their salads are very fresh and well presented. Or go for the pasta! The menu is only available in German. I spent 15 minutes translating the menu for my out of town colleagues, as it was entertaining watching me do this on an elementary German level, including translating the wild game menu as "the Bambi menu". The service is excellent here - the waitress took her time to answer all of our questions and made very good suggestions. To top it off, we never once had to ask for wine or water refill - it was always offered when running past half (which is the criteria for a real 5 star service restaurant), and also was frequently asked if everything was okay. Even the manager (who I noticed since his photo is on the website) came out to greet and speak to us a for a little. A plus in the winter - they take your coat immediately and will help you put it on when you leave. I didn't even ask for it - they came right away with my coat - 5 star treatment again. Reservations are highly recommended especially if over a party of 4 in this small yet ambiance filled with charm restaurant.
