If you are in a mood for a trip down the memory lane to your youth/childhood in the 1980s, well, you came just to the right place. At least decoration-wise.
This place has a definite retro vibe, but not as much because they are trying to, but because they still have dining rooms that were well-maintained, but unchanged from the 1980s - early 1990s.
However, the deco is not the only thing this restaurant has going for it. It is a small local family-run business, meaning that you have a friendly, homey, mom-and-pops shop staff that takes a lot of pleasure in interacting with the guests.
The food is surprisingly good too. We were there for an agricultural festival, so the place was pretty packed and had a one-size-fits-all menu composed of fries, pork shoulder and sauce. While they didn't look like much, they were completely delicious. As a bonus, they accommodated a vegetarian dish for my wife by mixing fries and vegetables and adding some cheese to compensate for the absence of meat.
Overall, it's a pleasant experience I would gladly recommend to anyone passing by or visiting the medieval city of Montigny-le-Roi. read more
