This is a review of both the B&B (we chose to stay in the yurt) and restaurant experience from our stay!
We could not been luckier than to be able to stay with Silvia. First, the surroundings are absolutely magical--you're perched facing the mountains above teal lake Lucerne, the whole of which is bathed in a silvery moonlight at night. The view from the private patio of the yurt is a panorama of this, and from inside the yurt is a snapshot of the lake and mountains, a stunning way to wake up. Ideally located--a quick 20 min train to Lucerne and right across from the many trails up Rigi (we took a scenic cable car part of the way up).
But most importantly, Silvia is the most friendly, sweet, welcoming host. She went above and beyond in making sure we were taken care of, making fantastic recommendations for our day trips and inviting us to spend time with her family (and answering my many many questions). Her husband and children were equally charming and so sweet and gracious. The food was spectacular, and exemplified the emphasis on quality of this region of beautiful farms and greenery. Every bite was special, sliced pork rippled with buttery fat; fragrant, fresh cheese; cream-like yogurt; we could go on. We have stayed in many Airbnb's, and this was by far the best experience we have ever had! We just left today, and are already figuring out how to come back :) read more
