We came here this afternoon because a review website stated that takeaway pizza is cheaper than…read moreeating at the restaurant. So we decided to give it a try. The servers only looked at us without greeting us, but Pizza came out fast, within 10 mins. We just took a walk around the corner to burn time. We ordered 4 pizzas with mushroom (funghi pizza), a pizza with olive (diavolo pizza), and 2 meaty pizzas (pizza la taverna). The pizza were tasty but toppings were scarce. The chef made us two diavolo pizza versus a funghi pizza. Unfortunately, we didn't realize it until we were at the park eating our pizzas, but I doubt they would have understood much English. No parmesan cheese flakes offered, we had to ask for the chili pepper flakes and had to pour them out of a jar (with constant stares from the waiting staffs), and nope, no napkins offered either. That being said, takeaway pizza is 3.50 CHF cheaper than then the listed price. 4 pizzas were just enough for 6 people, but cost us CHF 63.50 I would strongly recommend the pizza la taverna if you had to pick one.

The first time around we ate out on the terrace which was nice although it started to drizzle so we had to huddle together to get out of the drops of rain and the second time around I ate inside which is a pleasant atmosphere and very good service. We really regretted, that we stayed there for a tasteless, insipid lunch - which we paid 83,80 CHF (14/8/2016, Facture 8529,Table 53) - to a unpolished, rough, sarcastic "lady", who didn't say a basic, rudimental "thank you" or "bye", when we're leaving. I enjoyed my visit so much that I am adding it here…read more We stayed at some of the best hotels in Switzerland during our 3 weeks travel here, but this was the best. The whole hotel staff led by Daniel Zeigler know you by name and room almost immediately after you arrive. The Hotel is located on the smallest of three lakes in the area with views from many rooms. My parents room was very large and faced the lake. My room was large and faced the trees. Each room had a large deck and each is beautifully decorated in a unique style. The breakfast buffet was great with plenty of fresh fruit, breads, yogurts, muesli, smoked salmon, meats, cheeses, eggs. Everything is delicious. There are a number of beautiful dining rooms and dining terraces at the hotel and meals are served at different dining locations depending on the meal and day of the week. We had dinner and lunch here a number of days and all meals were excellent. This hotel is really a resort... you can sit outside on chaise lounges, sun bathe and just watch the lake and surrounding countryside or you can go swimming in the clear lake. The hotel has Kayaks at no charge that you can use on the lake. There are also bikes and helmets available free to the guests. I took a number of bike trips. The first day I took a ride around the lake. Since this lake is not that large, the average rider or family can ride around the lake. ( If you can't make it around the lake, there are boats at various places that will bring you back.) The roads and bike paths around the lake are mostly flat and the total distance around I think was about 12 miles. The second day I took a trip up Mount Vully on the other side of the lake past vineyards and farms. There is an historic fort on the top and from there you get a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside and the lakes. On the third day I took a ride on the Mittlelland bike path to Estavayer-le-lac, another historic town like Murten about 20 miles away. This town is less commercial than Murten and has some great architecture. The staff is so attentive without being at all overbearing. My mom had injured her foot (elsewhere). The hotel suggested a local doctor and drove her there where she got prompt excellent care. The hotel also has a free DVD library, book library and free internet for guests to use.
