First time coming to Restaurant Depot, you do have to have a business to shop here. There are no sign up fees or membership fees, just need to have a business. When you come in there is a waiver you have to sign if you bring anyone under the age of 18 years old, so I wouldn't recommend bringing children. I'm taking a star away because it gives organized but very unorganized vibe.....like if you come here often or work here, you'll know where everything is easily (obviously). They're also always stocking (understandable) but it makes the space smaller and you definitely can't find anything. The workers are amazing though, you can give a horrible description of what you're trying to find and they'll find it asap lol I feel like the prices are pretty decent and they do basically have anything a restaurant could need. Parking can be tough on the weekends and be very careful if you're short...you can be hit with the carts :( read more

You have to use a little muscle to pick up the huge items and to steer the cart. They have everything you can think of. From a variety of bulk cheese slices to pizza boxes. If you are catering or have a food business, this is the place to shop. It's also good if you have a big family to feed. They have everything!!! Restaurant Depot was an experience. It reminded me of Sam's Club; difference was it catered to resturants and not household items. You could find a few items that could work for your home which we did; cutting boards, cooking utensils, etc. We also found some good deals on peanut butter, popcorn chicken and Italian sausage. The staff was very courteous and helpful. You do need a membership to get in and check out. Memberships are available to qualifying owners or operators of food business and non-profit organizations. Overall, good experience and we look forward to our next visit. read more

The front desk left us hanging for a while before we were able to get a day pass. You either have to have a free day pass or a business to buy. Both are free. If you're bringing kids you also have to sign a waiver. I didn't find it anymore dangerous than Costco though not as pretty looking. It reminds me of an all food based BJs. They have a nice assortment of packaging as well as food options. The prices are very good on most items though the quality on some is lacking. I purchased little dip containers and they aren't very air tight. The cotton candy glitter bombs I put inside them ended up deflating because of moisture within 7 days. I also bought some halal ribeye and it was terrible! It tasted more like deer and was definitely not ribeye! It was more like a chuck roast. I give the meat a negative 5 stars Everyone working minus the front desk was super helpful helping me navigate their large bulk store. My parents and I are usually coming here to get seafood, such as shrimp squid fish or lobster. Their price is much softer than any other places. You must have the membership card to purchase here so it limits the customers. If you have a business license your membership is free. Even though this place is one west side of town we come here often and buy in bulk sort of like Costco. It's where the restaurant owners shop. The inside is not as pleasant as Costco as their carts are huge and forklifts are everywhere stocking up stuff. The seafood section is so cold I have to wear their provided jacket to go in. Always check the price on the shelves and when you check out!, Took the picture of the price and concentrate on each item when you pay so you don't have to run back and forth. I never did that because I trust the system until today I found two items that are higher than showing price (Over two dollars more ie the price $9.70 If I do not check then I will be charged $11.83) That's not good. Now I have to go back to all my reciepts shopped here and if it was higher than I though, I still don't know if they will adjust all those? Great place. Industrial warehouse and you need to be a member. Membership is free if you have business license. I stock up on fresh seafood and the customer service is outstanding in that department. Most customers are in the food service business and lines be long with people picking up large quantities of food and supplies. But, the cashiers do a good job of keeping things moving. Watch out for the workers on forklifts mixing in with public. Not a place for children unless you're keeping them very close. Five stars! read more

I will simplify: * Large store with good variety * Good prices but maybe you can find everything at wholesale Costco or Costco Business for the same price or cheaper. * Pay attention to the prices indicated on the shelves. They are fixed by magnets, and are usually reporting products out of that location. I spent more than half an hour to identify the price of a product. * You will not find help from the staff. * The store is crowded and the store makes those shopping carts available for large merchandise. However, we do not have any other smaller cart option. Countless people use those giant trolleys to carry less than five items that would fit neatly into an average grocery cart. It created turmoil, people without conscience constantly closed the aisles with carts. * Slowness in the payment queue, we were more than twenty minutes to be served. All queues are slow. And it's not because people bought a lot of things. There were only four people in front of me and they were all low on items. * Lack of commercial policy, loyalty and good customer service. Miserable communication from the store: After waiting patiently, holding four boxes of tea, a jar of spice, my son holding two packages of bread, and my husband holding two packages of disposables, the cashier asked us about our membership card . And we argued, nowhere in this store did it state that we would need to be members. The woman behind us kindly offered us her card. But the employee refused to accept. She said we would need to get in line and get the membership card. (Detail, this card is free. I didn't understand what idiocy I was witnessing, but anyway. That was it!) But the question is: The only solution that was offered to me is to make that card useless, for that I would have to go to another queue in which I could not see the end of it, with few employees working in that sector and I would be worried without knowing that hours I would leave. My LDC and I drove past this huge warehouse on W. Princeton after leaving the Habitat Re Store last Saturday around 2:00 PM, on our way to Lee and Ricks Oyster Bar. We were curious, so we made a quick U turn, and when we went in we picked up the 6 page ad by the front door. Oddly, the name and address of the business are nowhere to be found in the flyer. The place looks kind of like a Sam's Club inside, only with less open space and no lawn chairs or TVs. Anyway, the ad mentioned a SUPER price for a 30lb box (1/2 bushel) of oysters, so we walked in and got one from the very nice man at the seafood counter. We also picked up some mussels from Maine, and some beautiful wild caught shrimp. I wanted to buy a really cool double breasted chefs shirt, but she gave me that look; you know the one, so I didn't. We saw Asian sauces, various types of rice, gallons of hot sauce and olive oil, cooking utensils, and so many cool foodie things that we had to MAKE ourselves leave before seeing even half of the store. At the checkout, we were asked for a card. I said: "no card, cash." The cashier apparently thought that I didn't speak English, so she repeated herself, a little louder, and with a bit more attitude: "Card please!" I played along and repeated: "No card, cash." She rolled her eyes, and grabbed my cash. We left with some great Florida Gulf coast oysters, arborio rice, and some other nifty food items. After returning home, I looked it up on the internets only to find that like Sam's Club, you have to be a member to buy at Restaurant Depot. Apparently we were allowed to make our purchase only because she didn't want to hold up the line on a busy Saturday afternoon. There are locations of this establishment in south Florida and Jacksonville, and some other places, but we had never heard of Restaurant Depot before. Maybe because we don't own a restaurant. But since SWMBO works for a nonprofit, we'll be back! You need to know: If you own a business of any kind, or work for a nonprofit organization, membership is FREE. If you qualify, I suggest you go there ASAP. You never know when you'll need a case of lamb legs or a gallon of ranch dressing. Or a very cool chefs shirt. read more

Sort of like Costco but for Restaurant owners. Giant warehouse setup, including a giant refrigerated warehouse for produce, meats, cheeses and frozen goods. If you're looking for service, like any warehouse it's a bit of a trick to flag someone down, but damn you can't really beat their prices for buying locally. There's still things I'd rather pick up from distributors like US Food, Sysco, Cheney, etc., but most of the stuff can be found here cheaper than anywhere in town. Membership is reasonable and it's kind of fun to run into every other restaurant owner in town, food truck people etc. We're all there buying receipts or soda or a giant slab of beef for a special. I have had a restaurant for 5 years and have shopped here week after week. The Orlando location is AWESOME! Aside from the convenience of them stocking everything I need, the staff is phenomenal! They are helpful, friendly, and I've never seen one of them with a bad attitude or "having a bad day!" That speaks volumes of great management that contributes to that kind or morale! Lundy Diaz took over a bit ago as Store Manager and he is a great leader! Shout outs to Tod, Armando, Sigfredo, Ivelese, and Cheryl... Bibi... Stuart... and especially WILSON, who works his happy smiling face off outside in the lot, come rain or shine, and has kind words for all he meets! I love them ALL! $2000 shopping trips would be daunting for anyone, but they all turn this "chore" into a blessing that I actually look forward to! As an aside, I have shopped in the Tampa location on occasion, and there's no comparison. If you have a local business, it's a great place to buy everything from papertowel to cleaning products, membership is free, but it's not open to the general public. Their prices are good, but again everything is package for wholesale so it's not like Sams where you can find a six pack of small cans of beans, these are huge cans only. Like every warehouse type business, the people working the floor are more focused on restocking, however, I have always found them to be friendly and helpful, especially the guys in the refrigerated area, eveyone is knowledgeable on the products in their area and quick to help! Love this place for the cheap prices; however, you'd either have to own a restaurant or eat a whole lot as most items are sold in bulk. I got a giant 50 lb bag of long grain rice today for under $18, which will last me for the next 3-4 years. Meat is also very cheap; however, keep in mind most of them are "Choice" grade. Seafood prices are exceptionally cheap here compared to anywhere else in Orlando. The only reason why I'm rating this place lower is because of the service. Service is pretty much in line with a Super Walmart, if not, worse. The guys loading pallets of products are usually very friendly & help, it is just hard to flag them down as they're operating heavy duty machinery. The ladies at the check out counters are not at all friendly nor do they seem like they wanted to be there, same goes for the ladies who check your receipt before you can leave the building.
