Stopped it in looking for some GHIRARDELLI Premium Baking Classic White Chips and they did not have them. Sometimes they do, others they do not. I'll keep checking in to see if they may be stocked. The large bag is a great value for the price. The staff was nice even though I wasn't there long. read more

Great box store. Do not have to be a member, pay like 5% more. Worth it to buy bulk and whole primals of meat. Nothing fancy, but serves it's purpose. Great prices. No membership fee. Warehouse environment. Staff is helpful. read more

This is a newer location. Shelves and aisles are much cleaner and more organized than other locations I've been to in other Chicago and Milwaukee areas. Compared to Milwaukee where customer service is non existent, the employees at the Gurnee location actually greet and thank you at the register. read more

I'm disappointed by the level of customer service I experienced at Costco on Friday, May 15. She threw my items onto the belt, never greeted me, and did not acknowledge me once during the transaction. It was honestly one of the worst customer service experiences I've had at Costco. Guy in front of me got the wrong change paying cash, because if the rush. Two visits from the manager to fix it and try to go to the next person in line. So I move to the next line with my 11 items. They get scanned and the cashier says "have a nice day." Umm, did you want me to pay? Just rude and crazy. Getting my receipt checked at the exit wasn't any better. Terrible experience.

The tree removal company wanted to deliver the logs at the end of the day. Bruce the co-owner told me something could be arranged, but then Erika told me the logs would have to be delivered by 3PM. Then there was the deposit. Initially, I was told I would pay $200 in their application. Then Erika sent me a text saying I needed to pay $300, then when I spoke on the phone with her she said I would need to pay half the full cost, which was $500. I had no problem paying half, but it felt shady that the price kept changing. When I brought up how the price changed, Erika told me it was because I changed my mind on having them create the entire table. I reminded her that I was only getting the table top done because she said she didn't have a carpenter that could create a wood base for the table so I would have to go with a heavy iron base they provide that I didn't want and pay $5000 for the privilege. She then told me quite rudely to take my business elsewhere. Mind you, the logs have been cut down and are sitting with tree guys. Not to mention, I'm in Hawaii on vacation with a child and wife who have tested positive for Covid. Erika did not care. She was rude and mean, didn't care one bit about my business or my predicament. Bottomline, Horigan doesn't have much competition in Northern Chicago so they treat customers like crap. I warn anyone considering them to take their business to Southern Chicago mills like Nicholson where they understand customer service and don't have anti-social personalities abusing customers.

There was no one in the reception area when we arrived so we were just browsing their pretty inventory. Then finally two older ladies came out of the back area- I announced my presence with a "hello" since I was browsing their aisles of flowers and tropical plants and did not want to startle them. They were both not very friendly and I immediately felt uncomfortable like I was interrupting them. I proceeded to ask her about bushes and one of the women acted like she didn't understand a word that I said while the other one just completely walked away. (I am a GenX Japanese American north side Chicagoan and my partner is a biracial black and white north side Chicagoan as well) she was extremely snotty and rude to me like she didn't understand what I was asking her so I took her outside to speak with my partner because I was already visibly upset-so then I asked her "are you Mary? " she's like "No Mary is inside." So Mary was the other rude lady peeking out the door. I'm like thanks but no thanks. Let's go. I asked my partner in the car if it was just me and he said "no these women are rude." So as a small business minority woman myself-who runs her own small business in the city of Chicago - I WILL NEVER GO BACK there it's was not a pleasant experience shop there at your own risk.

This is my first visit to Mary's and they've got some great flowers here! Lots of options I haven't seen shopping around the last few years at other places. We got some begonias that are stunning and holding up fantastic so far. We picked up a tropical bush as well, which Mary herself did advise me would likely not survive the winter. She did give me some advice on how to winterize it if I want to try and bring it inside, she seems knowledgeable and it's pretty cool that she offers plants like these. I always grab some veggies and herbs as well and she delivered on that with a few different herbs I'm excited to try. Boxwood basil is new to me but that's exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for. I do wish she had more variety of veggies available, I might have missed the boat on that. I did get a nice heirloom tomato plant, she had these in a back lot. It's a bit hard to get navigate back there and it's not a flat path so be prepared. To sum up, this is a smaller operation than some local competitors but that plant enthusiast charm goes a long way. I'd definitely recommend it for flowers, they've also got lots of cute outdoor decorations. It's a great spot to find something unique too! It COULD use some layout improvements and I found some things unlabeled as I was perusing. I'd say it's definitely worth checking out for either a seasoned gardener or a first timer!

Prices are up this year but that's true for everywhere and I didn't find anything to be outrageously expensive. If your looking for some herbs, flowers, or veggies to grow its worth a stop in to look around at their selection, they also have ground cover plants if that's what your in the market for.

I saw it too late in the season.
