This was the absolute best jägerschnitzel I have ever had in all of Germany. The meat was tender and the gravy savory. Served with homemade spatzel and paired with a nice dunkel. Zehr gut! I would recommend anyone visiting Schwangau visit here for great food and family service. read more

We liked this restaurant during our last trips. But after the visit today we left very…read moredisappointed. The menu has stayed the same, but the quality of the food has dropped to the lowest possible level. The carpaccio is typically thinly sliced raw meat. The version we got served was essentially over cooked (roast) beef, thick slices and hidden under a generous layer of salad dressing. As main courses we had various version of the schnitzel. While the meat was ok, not great, the side dishes were of unusually bad quality. The potato salad seemed to have been served right out of the bucket from a factory. The local pasta (Spaetzle) had no flavor whatsoever and might have originated from the same whole sale retailer. What has happened here? A bad night? Did the chef have his day off? A new chef. In the last two years the food and service were great. Traditional Bavarian cuisine with a modern twist. Tonight was just way overpriced and utterly uninspired food.

Wir waren während unseres Winterurlaubs in Oberstdorf mehrmals in dieser Gaststätte essen. Wir können uns den bereits hier abgegebenen positiven Kommentaren ohne Abstriche anschließen. Das Essen ist sehr lecker. Besonders das Nebelhorn-Schnitzel (würzig gefüllt mit Spinat und Käse) und der butterzarte Rostbraten auf Käsespätzle sollte man auf keinen Fall versäumen! Die Weine sind gut, und an jedem Pils-Glas hängt als netter Gag ein Brezelchen. Man spürt auch an solchen Kleinigkeiten, dass das junge Wirtsehepaar Gastgeber mit Liebe und Können ist. Allerdings ohne Reservierung ist es ein Glücksspiel, mit mehreren Personen Platz zu finden. read more

Meine Frau und ich waren zwar nur 4 Tage über Pfingsten in Oberstdorf, aber wir waren zwei Mal im "Allgäu" essen. Beide Male war das Essen super! Auch der "Bierkutscherteller", der im vorherigen Beitrag gerügt wurde, war ein Genuss! Alles hat gepasst. Wir können dieses kleien Restaurant nur weiter empfehlen, bedanken uns für die vorbildliche und aufmerksame Bedienung und wünschen dem jungen Inhaberpaar viel Erfolg und alles Gute. Aufgrund der guten Bewertungen sind wir heute ins Allgäu eingekehrt, um uns ein eigenes Bild zu machen. wir sind begeistert und waren nicht das letzte Mal dort :-) sehr nette, freundliche, aufmerksame Bedienung, Essen wurde schnell serviert, war super lecker und entsprach dem Preis/Leistungsverhältnis! dies gilt auch für die Getränke. .alles in Einem: sehr zu empfehlen! read more

Wir sind Einheimische und gehen jeden Sonntag Essen. Meistens ins Restaurant Allgäu, wenn wir einen Tisch bekommen. Es schmeckt immmer super lecker. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Besser gehts nicht. Auch meine Gäste gehen dort gerne zum Essen, buchen das Restaurant teilweise schon mit dem Hotelzimmer. read more
