Though I came on a dark, winter night, I think one would be well-served to take advantage of their outdoor patio to take in the beautiful vistas of the Swiss countryside. There is an extensive wine list, but I like to go local, so I chose a good white merlot from the south of Switzerland, which surprisingly had a lot of complexity. The amuse bouche was a generous small, grilled filet of salmon, very well seasoned, with creamed leeks. I started with the mussel soup, served with copious strands of saffron in a dainty bowl, but they leave a small pitcher of the delicious, creamy broth. I think lemon juice was used to give it the right amount of acidity. The local striped perch, similar to a trout, was nicely sautéed with a paprika, curry sauce. I loved the buttery, sautéed vegetables. The Forst would be hard to pass up if you're in the area.

I'll give you my two-fold review of this terrific establishment. The first is the food - great. I…read morereally enjoyed by meal, which included a spinach ravioli starter. It was fresh and flavorful and included mushrooms and sliced parmigiano-reggiano. I think happily jumped into the entree, which was rare lamb chops and assorted vegetables. Overall, a very tasty meal. As for the hotel, it's a classic. The rooms are quite spacious and recently update with modern and sleep furniture. It's comfortable with black and white tiles floors and super clean shower. A perfect fit for a business traveler. The only negative is that it's located on the corner with a roundabout. With the windows open, it can be quite noisy, but with them closed, you barely notice that there are cars outside. On last bit of news is the proximity to the train station - it's less than a 5 minute walk away, so super convenient as well.
