I'll agree with other reviews (on TripAdvisor), that it does feel more like a bed & breakfast and not so much a "fancy hotel". We stayed in room #46 and was actually shocked to see that the room key was an actual "key". We get so used to those cards that you just slide in to unlock the door. Anyway, we climbed up the stairs and it does feel like you are at somebody's house. There is a lift/elevator, but it's quite small. The hallways are dim, but once you enter the room, it was much larger than I was expecting. You actually enter into a hallway with closet space on the left with the bathroom to the right and then through another door leading into the bedroom. I guess that was nice to block out any noise coming from the main hallway (if other guests are coming in late or making a lot of noise). The rooms don't have much décor and are very plain with white walls, and white sheets. Who needs any décor when you have such a spectacular view though!! We had a small balcony overlooking the lake and mountains. It felt so unreal and so beautiful. You seriously could not get sick of that view! Absolutely breathtaking! The one thing I will point out is the shower is so small! I honestly don't think a large set person would be able to shower in there. Also, if you drop the soap... that's it! haha. So WiFi is not free. We paid 20 Swiss francs for 1 hour of WiFi. They give you a code to put in. Honestly, I thought that was a pretty good deal. We were so exhausted from the day's events that one hour of internet was pretty much all we needed before we knocked out. It's just long enough to check your email, Facebook and post a few photos on Instagram. Breakfast is included and it was decent. Croissant, bread, eggs, yogurt, juice, cold cut meats. The staff here was pleasant and they were welcoming to us. The hotel is not far from town. My husband and I took a walk and strolled around the shops and restaurants and also to the bridge. A lot of the shops there are not open late and we even stumbled into a McDonald's where they had burgers on bagels and McFlurry with Toblerone and Ovaltine. Haha.. awesome. The hotel also gives you a packet with coupons and you can take one of the coupons into town and get a free Rolex spoon! If we were to come back, we would definitely consider staying here again.

Their English speaking skills were very good and the process was smooth. The next step was to have a ceremonious glass of wine and what a beautiful restaurant with a full separate bar and lounge area. The views are amazing of Lake Luzern and the historic area. Absolutely stunning vies and great experience. So happy Viking put us up here for our first time visit to Switzerland.

This hotel was booked through Viking Cruises for the end of our river cruise. It is a beautiful hotel with really good customer service. The morning breakfast was included with our package, and it was very good. Besides the price the other complaint that I had was that the stand-alone shower was smaller than the one on our cruise ship.

They gave me a bus pass for free to see more of the city which was great. The hotel is very centrally located being less than 2 minutes from the train station and bus stations and being very close to many of the major sites including museums. Just crossing over a bridge will get you to Old Town super quick, so it was really nice to be so close to everything. I had a bit of an issue around midnight with some of the other hotel guests being loud in the hallway but I gave the front desk a call and they fixed the situation immediately and made sure that if anything else was an issue to let them know and they'd fix it. Super helpful and super kind staff. All around great stay!!

The staff is super friendly and eager to make your stay pleasant and comfortable. The rooms and clean and comfortable with beautiful views windows to look out at. They have shared bathrooms but they are always clean and ready to go. They serve a traditional breakfast here with wonderful breads, cheeses, cereals, sliced meats and fruit. Just what you need to start the day off. I would highly recommend this place to any travelers. I'll definitely stay here again the next time we pass through.

This is a modernized boutique hotel within walking distance of Lake Lucerne, restaurants and shops…read more Under normal circumstances, I would write a good review for this hotel and the room; however, I left with bed bed bug bites all over my body (chest, arms, back). Therefore, I can't. On the second night of sleeping at this hotel, I noticed that I had uncontrollable itching on my arms and back, but discounted the issue as just a few bug bites. Fast forward to my third day, I had even more bites on my body with even more discomfort and itching. The itching wasn't a fun experience in winter especially when you have layers of clothing on and are trying to itch your way through 2 jackets. On my last day at this hotel, I noticed dozens upon dozens of bites across my entire body. I also had uncontrollable itching and burning from the scratching. My mother (who shared the same room with me) had the same problem, too. Her bites were primarily on her back. Upon looking at the white sheets, I noticed several blood spots scattered around, which is typically a sign of bed bugs feeding. This incident has caused us severe discomfort on our travels back to the United States. Not only that, we will have to treat all of our luggage with high heat to eradicate any larvae or live bed bugs. As for the the continental breakfast, I thought it was disappointing. We only ate the breakfast one out of the four days of our stay. That was largely in part of the bad food. My last complaint was that our espresso machine in our room didn't work. It only spewed out hot water. I wish I could have rated this hotel higher because the suite we stayed in was beautiful. Unfortunately, the cleanliness standards were a major issue.

A full array of local beers are available to choose from as well as some of the creamiest beer cheese soup I've ever had. Of course who doesn't love a German brat served perfectly in a portion that can more than feed one person. Our service was great. Our atmosphere was fantastic and the food was more than enough. We're so glad we stopped in here for a bite of lunch on a super cold day.
