I had real trouble finding a place because all looked equally good.
I decided to try this restaurant right next to the Nikolaikirche. One reason was that they had a good placement of umbrellas and a few open tables, so I could find a nice spot in the shade.
They also had a chalkboard up advertising a special with Thüringer Bratwurst. The price was really good, just about 8 Euros, so I decided to give the place a try.
It was well worth it. The service was very quick. My order was taken right away by a very nice waiter. I ordered a Gose beer, which was excellent. I was glad to try the local beer here with its very distinctive taste.
The food came out hot and very fresh. I really liked the sauerkraut and the bratwurst. The potatoes, though, were a little bland.
This was a really nice restaurant to eat at. I would recommend trying it, especially in a nice day when you can sit outside on the patio.
