Early in spring, I had taken a trip with my girlfriend to Warsaw. We ended up in the old town section of Warsaw. There were a lot of touristy places to eat, but we stumbled upon Enoteka. It is a clean, nicely decorated, and modern but comfortable inside. It was cold this evening so we sat inside. It would have been great if we could have enjoyed their outdoor seating on the deck.
The wine list was surprising. There was quite a range of imported Italian wines and some local Polish wines. The owner had come by our table and mentioned that he also imports wines and was quite proud of his wine selection. We enjoyed a couple of nice Chianti's recommended to us.
I had the asparagus and prosciutto appetizer, which was crisp, green, and delicious. For my entree, I enjoyed an amazing steak filet which was comparable to what I can get in Chicago, the beef capital of the world. My girlfriend, ordered the risotto special which was rich and creamy.
The service was a little timid at times, but the owner paid a lot of attention to us to make up for any lapse. It was my best meal in Warsaw. The price was so economical compared to what I would get in the States for the same quality of food, wine, and service. read more
