The friends and I decided to take a lunch break here to get a breather after the Sedlec Ossuary and to prep for the wonder that was the Church of St Barbora. Restaurace U Barbory is actually right next door to the famed St Barbora Cathedral and on a gorgeous day, dining on the outside courtyard gives a wonderful view of the Jesuit College. The restaurant is connected to a penzion and seemed to have a decent amount of people stopping in for lunch. They offer a combination of Czech fare mixed with some International cuisine.
To eat, I had the Roast duck leg with Apple Cabbage. It comes with potato gnocchi which I substituted for my fave, mashed potatoes (or potato puree as they call it here). I wasn't sure if I would like the cabbage but I actually quite enjoyed it. It was like pickled cabbage but a little sweet - good flavors. Very healthy-sized portion. My friend had the Spaghetti alla arrabiata which was a little spicy for her. I thought it was fine. Service was pleasant. read more
