We came from Prague to Kutná Hora for a 1/2 day trip. After the ossuary we took the bus to the center and happened upon this place.
It was a cold but sunny day, so we decided to sit out in the sun. There are some picnic tables outside with a nice view of the cathedral and the arcade of statues.
They have several menu options. They also have a few pictures of food items. That to me screams tourist trap. So although we avoid these type of places, we went ahead and ordered because they accept credit cards and we were running low on cash. We were trying to not use our remaining kč as to not have to take more cash out.
I just wanted soup, but my husband wanted food. Silly man. The garlic soup with ham and cheese was pretty good and it warmed my bones. Now, we ordered the fish & chips from the touristy menu. Looked beer battered and was pictured with hush puppies. We got corn meal breading and no hush puppies. We also ordered the fried cheese. All the fried items were pretty greasy and had a bit of old oil aftertaste.
Service is pretty gruff. And here's the kicker. We go to pay, and we get "No cards, cash only". Forget the fact, that right on their window they have stickers for every single credit card known to man. Including AmEx. Fortunately, we had enough cash, because although they have an ATM attached ro their restaurant, I was not going to withdraw from there!
So if you just want beer or hot soup, you're ok. As long as you have cash. read more
