Dior des Lices - Everything Dior!

For cafe Dior it seems like you can wait for seats to open up and if timing works out then you might be lucky enough to get seated. Service was a tad slow, not particularly luxurious feeling, and they had the audacity to emphasize that if their service was a good then to add gratuity. The price btw was already exorbitant so we really were not expecting an additional tip that was not warranted. Overall a very mid experience and would not recommend. It wasn't that nice in there, especially with only one bathroom, the wait could be quite long. On a hot day, eating at cafe Dior truly wasn't a good experience as we were sweating bullets. So we ended up spending 112 euros one two desserts, two juices and two waters. We begrudgingly added tip on top after as well because we were honestly put on the spot. Tip on top probably brought us to about a $150 USD meal. It was a joke.

Be wary reservations are hard and a bit pretentious! Emailed for a reservation and received a…read more"thanks for your email" but an obvious non-answer, arrived the next day and asked again to be told nothing available or long waits for walk ins. After we shopped at Dior, bought a bag, and asked with shopping bag in hand, the host went to get the manager and we were told we could have a 4pm reservation for set price afternoon tea. If you call/email weeks or months in advance you'll probably have an easier time. Regardless, I knew it'd be like that and went mostly for the vibe/picture moments I could have. It's 55€/pp for 4 small desserts: a macaron, madeline, chocolate, and rose cream sweet, a drink of choice, and a dessert of choice (cream puffs or raspberry cake). All were great! It's definitely expensive for what it is but if you take into account the experience and ambiance, and you really like Dior, I think it's worth it.

Pearl Beach is one of the very few beach clubs in St Tropez itself, most are a few kilometers away…read moreover in Ramatuelle. I went here with 3 friends for dinner and sunset cocktails. Pearl Beach is a trendy spot that feels like you're entering a swank Balinese style lounge. The lighting and various water features add to its allure. We were lucky and got to eat on the beach itself. There is something special about being able to dine al fresco on the sand underneath a starry night staring at the endless parade of mega yachts. We opted for the 3 course menus. At €75 / person this isn't cheap, but for St Tropez it isn't outlandish. For my starter I had the assortment of asian delights...deep fried spring roll, samosa, and shrimp. The shrimp was the highlight here as the samosa and spring roll were a bit overly greasy. For the main, I had the duck which was prepared many ways and included quite a bit of foie gras. This was followed by a delicious warm molten cake. That said, my friend's assortment of little desserts was clearly the way to go, as you got to try about 1/2 dozen delights. Pearl Beach is a great spot, about a 10 minute walk from the main port of St Tropez...a bit removed form most of the "scene" but that makes for a relaxing dinner. We didn't come during the day, but it looks to be like a fairly upscale beach club. The beaches are nicer in Ramatuelle though.
