Shell gas station here to fill up the tank if needed. Gets the job done.

Place is busy, I would say by design but it isnt setup well. KFC and Wendy's are the two food offerings. Not a full menu. Every time seem to be understaffed. Truck stops have a bad rep, if you ask me. Not only have they been featured in various horror…read morescenes in movies and documentaries, but they've always been that place where you want to be fully aware of your surroundings, especially at night. A truck stop was somewhere I went out of pure and deep necessity (I forgot to bring snacks, my gas light just came on, and of course the dreaded bathroom pit stop) and nothing else...until Cupid struck me and I found Love's. I must profess, this is by far the cleanest, well-lit, and friendliest truck stop that I've ever been to, and I travel often from Jacksonville to Tampa. I have this place saved in my GPS favorites, if that says anything. The gas is very affordable....ok I take that back. Gas isn't affordable ANYWHERE these days, but at Love's the price is as reasonable as it's gonna get. The restrooms are impeccable...yes, impeccable and there are hand sanitizer dispensers situated throughout the store. I like roaming the salesfloor during the holidays, because they carry a large assortment of gifts and cool gadgets for stocking stuffers. It also helps that they have an attached 24 hour Arby's so I can get my Beef 'n' Cheddar with Curly Fries fix day or night. I'm horrible with names but the coolest associate is the girl with dreads, I believe she's a supervisor of some sort. She's always friendly, engaging, and multi-tasking like a pro. This is one of those establishments that runs like a well-oiled machine, where the management and staff take great pride in their work. Whether you're on a road trip or just in the neighborhood, I highly recommend this particular Love's Travel Center to one and all! Till next time, my fellow Yeeps, thanks for reading, and as always...SYOY!

I stopped in during an extremely busy time of the day but still managed to find a parking space within a reasonable distance from the front entrance. The interior was chaotic, it's seems everyone in Florida decided to have lunch here at the same time - well to say the least it was busy and a bit in disarray. I decided to headed to the Wendy's counter where I was met by Natasha and a big smile she took my order then my money and kept me company while my sandwiches were being prepared. The Turkey Lake rest stop has both north and south bound entrances. It is named after nearby Turkey lake which contains Bill Frederick Park. Food options here include vending machines, Dunkin Donuts, KFC, Nathans, Nature's Table, Villa Pizza, and Wendy's. There is the typical Sunshine market where you can pick up your sundries. Of course there are restrooms which is why you likely stopped as well as a picnic area. You can stock up on your tourist brochures which every kid likes to do in anticipation of fun destinations on a road trip. There is also expensive gas to refuel your vehicle. Normally I prefer a turnpike rest area to the ones on I-95. The reason for my one star is they don't require masks even though there are recommendations to wear one on the door. How can you not require masks at a place that has people coming through from all parts of Florida? I would like to note that the workers inside are wearing masks. Every day the number of cases of Covid is rising in Florida as is the death rate. It was upsetting to see hardly anyone walking in with a mask. No thanks. I don't want to be standing next to other non mask wearing people in the tight confines of the bathroom. Shame on the transportation authorities for not requiring masks for people entering the building. The more open plans of the I-95 bathroom rest areas is a better bet right now. The only turkeys I saw here today were the selfish non mask wearing people. Let's get it together Florida because it is going to take all of us.

It sits far enough off the highway that it's relatively quiet, and there's a good selection of vending machines for drinks and snacks. The restrooms are usually fairly clean, but the cleanliness is inconsistent. I've run into sinks that weren't working and times when there was no soap. I also wish they offered paper towels. The hand dryers don't do a very good job, and even upgrading to a stronger dryer would help. The bathroom floors also seem consistently sticky, even when the rest of the room looks clean. Another downside is that groups sometimes set up in the courtyard, soliciting donations or selling items under the banner of veterans' support. I can't speak to the legitimacy of any particular organization, but it can make the stop feel a little less comfortable.
