Just south of the Indiana Outlet Mall, this rest stop is large, fairly clean & safe to stop at. In nice weather, there is a large pavilion to sit under & a huge lawn area for kids & dogs. The rest room is fairly clean, although not all of the toilets were currently working.

This was the perfect place to watch the 2024 eclipse. The staff adjusted the lights so they did not come on during totality.

Watched the eclipse here. They even kept the lights off during totality. Clean and very nice.

Sometimes it is important to review a rest area and give praise when it is due. A clean bathroom is a great thing and without reviews you would just take the risk. I'm trying to help everyone minimize their risk and avoid disgusting toilets. Anyway, in this case, Indiana is going a good job. This is a small rest area. But, the facilities were well maintained. There is also a little wooded area for walking and having a picnic. Recommended!

This is a great place to stop and stretch your legs, enjoy a picnic, or relax -- shade trees, walkways, and plenty of picnic tables ...

Pros: -Free breakfast, which is why I chose this over the Hilton Garden Inn next door - and a nice selection too, ranging from waffles (two kinds: regular + pumpkin spice), bagels, hot foods (sausage, eggs, potatoes that day), etc. -Does have an indoor pool, although I didn't use it -I booked this as a reward night, and it was only 30,000 points - the Home2 Suites down the road were 40,000 points for the night -Very clean, also very large bathroom -Comfortable bed -Early check-in: we were attending a wedding in the area so I called around 9am the day of, to see if we could check in around 12pm, and my request was accomodated without issue. -Hilton app: I was able to choose a room the day before. I prefer not to be super close to the elevators, due to noise, so I was able to choose one a little bit down the hall Cons: -The room itself isn't huge, but it's not tiny either -Thermostat was kind of confusing - there's one on the wall but you need to actually adjust the radiator/air conditioner itself Other than that, can't really say anything negative about this hotel - it was nice and cheery, and perfect for a one-night stay after attending a wedding.

We got a phone call from the hotel staff on our way back home that weekend stating that we had forgotten an apple watch. They said they were going to mail it. A month passed, the watch was not mailed. When we called, a supervisor said that she mailed it herself, was going to check the tracking number and call us back. She did not call back that day and two weeks after that call, still no watch. We called again, got transferred twice to be told that the person with information about the watch was out of the office, and nobody else was able to help. We had to wait for her to return to work to get an update. How is a hotel that big and renowned unable to provide information about something they said they found where we stayed?

Fairly solid hotel that I would consider staying at again, despite our experience not quite meeting…read moreexpectations. I decided to book this Holiday Inn Express over other hotel options, given the high reviews I'd seen on the IHG app, Google, and other sites. I chose to pay more for this HIE over more affordable places (that also had good ratings), looking for a nicer experience. However, starting at check-in, the stay left more to be desired. We arrived after 1:30 am on a Thursday (as a mid-way point on a roadtrip), and the front desk service was not friendly. The receptionist did not acknowledge IHG membership, nor say anything about hotel amenities (e.g. what time or where breakfast is), or even make polite conversation. The receptionist asked for signature on a waiver form and asked for card payment, which was significantly higher than the rate I'd booked through the IHG app. He did not explain that this included a $50 refundable deposit, I had to ask him that myself; he only (rather rudely) commented on how me booking through the app (where I entered card details) was not actually paying. From there, we got to our assigned room, 302. I appreciated that my saved IHG preferences - for a high floor room away from elevators - were taken into account. We put down our things and checked the air conditioning, noticing the thermostat was set to 74. We tried adjusting it but were unable to, so we called the front desk (no answer - multiple tries). My SO then went back downstairs and was given keys to the room across the hall - after having to wait to be helped, as the employee was taking a smoke break. (Meanwhile, there was a sign at the desk saying they were away assisting another customer.) The room itself was spacious and clean (both 302 and 301, where we ultimately stayed). There is a mini-fridge and Keurig with 3 K-cups given ("Royal Cup" brand coffee). The bed and pillows were comfortable (both firm and soft pillows provided and labeled), and the blackout curtain did block most of the sunlight from the room in the morning. The shower was nice, but the tub didn't drain effectively (there was standing water in the tub throughout the shower), and the shampoo nozzle was broken. I like the Dove products provided in the shower, but with how the pump bottles are locked in, guests are out of luck if something doesn't work (so I couldn't fix/use the shampoo). The bathroom did not have a fan, either, which would have been helpful for ventilation and white noise. The hotel has complimentary parking and complimentary breakfast from 6-10 am every morning. Breakfast was standard Holiday Inn Express fare and tasted good - biscuits & gravy, veggie/egg white and egg/cheddar omelettes, turkey sausage, bacon, pancakes (made to order from a machine), cereal, yogurt, pastries (including gluten free muffins), the infamous Holiday Inn cinnamon rolls, etc. Coffee is available at all times, too. The breakfast and lobby area felt comfortable, clean, and open, with tall ceilings and lots of seating. All in all, I was disappointed by the hiccups in what I hoped to be a higher quality overnight stay - but given the cleanliness of the rooms and the convenient hotel location and amenities, I would return.

I booked the Red Roof online since it was the lowest price place in the area that had decent reviews. It about met my low expectations. The staff was decent and checkin and checkout were ok. I was booked in a first floor room near the back of the motel, decent amount of parking, although it seemed the place was fairly empty. The room itself was ok; queen bed, bathroom, fridge and microwave. Flatscreen TV with plenty of basic cable channels, no premium channels. Cleanliness was good; however overall the room was showing lots of signs of wear and tear. The shower is relatively low, I am 5'7" and the bottom of the shower head was about my height. Towels were clean but a bit thin, it took both bath towels to dry myself. No hair dryer in the room. Despite what it may say online they are not currently offering breakfast, although there is coffee and juice available. The Red Roof Inn is at best a 1-2 star motel. My room was clean, but the motel needs to be updated. The location is not the best, but ok to stay if the price is right.
